Come hatch along with us!!! Last sets of the year! 10-18 to 11-7

May I join you all? I did a lot of hatching with groups here over the past winter and spring and really enjoyed the camaraderie. On 10/20, I set 9 fresh assorted eggs from my late flock (predator got almost all of them) and set a dozen eggs that had been refrigerated and were at least a week old (I can hope). I have a second incubator and hope to buy some eggs for delivery next week. Fingers crossed that we all have sucessful hatches!!!

Hiya Champer! I like that you're experimenting with the refrigerator eggs. When we gather eggs we soak them in water before giving them a light scrub and then dry, and into fridge. I threw some of the soaked eggs into this hatch with a 'W' marked on them to see if they'd hatch.

KLONDIKE, you're not being rudish, it's persistant. :D Unless they smell, or are obviously clear, I keep all eggs in. 4

I was so excited to candle the eggs tonight,, but they are so dark I can barely
see a thing.  I can see they all look like they are fertile but can't tell if they are
alive :(....  I guess i just put them back in there and wait???

I, myself, would wait and hope....unless there's an odor.

Kassaundra: did you get your 3 hr away eggs?

Marinecore! Wow wee! Thanks allotta eggs!! Oh, and can I come for dinner? I hear there's beer. :D

Thanks everyone,

Brookhavens: I will try two lights that sounds like a plan. I don't have a candler I can rig something.

MCF: That's a whole mess of eggs you have there!! many chicks hopefully. I did use an led but
not a mag lite.

I did put them back in there and crossed my fingers, but logically one can't really have 100% success so I must
have made some errors. I googled up a million UTube videos of candling last night to see what I could
find and I did find one on Marans and that lady couldn't see anything either LOL!!!

So.. my plan B is this. it may sound weird but one of the things I do is teach people how to scuba dive in
caves. and for this you need really big lights. I had to order a new battery but when it comes in on tuesday
I am going to try my primary cave light, it is a 21Watt HID.. !!!!
