Oh, I didn't know they had craft stuff you could do. THAT sounds more like my thing. Thanks for the tips!

I go to an art class on the weekends though, so I think I've pretty much got creativity covered. Still, doesn't hurt to throw in a bit of extra there.

I don't know about Australia, but hospitals here all seem to have large volunteer populations. Where I work there seems to be a lot of teens as well. They help out at the information desks, and help visitors/pts find their way around, or actually work in a department.

Imp- and they get free meals.

btw- I just gotta add that here "community service" can commonly mean court ordered, by a judge, as a punishment for a crime.

Almost every Thursday and Saturday I volunteer at Mill Creek Horse Retirement farm. I'm under 18 and I get up to 8 hours of volunteer hours there ! Here's the link : http://millcreekfarm.org/

One son did his hours helping at an after school center for a vacation, another did tutoring at lunch at school

there was also time at school for a once a month landscaping day.

I hear a lot about gardening and landscaping.... hmm, that might work for me! I'm better with physical labour than providing emotional support.

I have been a wildlife volunteer in the past. And little joeys need to be fed every 20-30 minutes when very young. All through the night. It then goes up to 1,2,3 hourly feeds. A joey usually needs to be in care for over a year.

The ones my friend has aren't little little ones they get the bigger (over 5mo old) ones that require less feeding and then once they get to a certain weight and age they go onto another carer once they are down to 2 feeds of milk a day and other diet consists of grass etc.

I'm really sorry if it seemed that way

I had to 'retire' from the wildlife carers as it was just too much work with the chickens as well. So now I just breed poultry. I really hope to be able to be a carer again in the future. It's very rewarding.
