Compatible breeds?

Are there any small breeds of chicken that aren't bantams? I need pullets, but there's only one place that sells sexed bantams (at around ten bucks per chick). I don't want or have room for big chickens. If I breed my chickens I'll get stuck with MORE roosters I don't need. Help! I want to be able to order some pullets from a site but I don't know what.

Hi, have you thought about silkies or Polish? They are smaller and pretty darn cute too!

Silkies are actually bantams and Leghorns, while lightweight, are high strung and flighty with big attitudes. ) Polish are a good suggestion as they are among the smaller of the standard breeds. Appenzellers, Fayoumis, Hamburgs, Jaerhons, Lakenvelders, Penedesencas, and Sultans are all also among the smaller standard breeds with hens averaging 4 lbs. or less.
