I notice alot of people keep saying take the shavings out of the run, so i think the are confused. The dirt in your run is it hard? That could be it. My run is dirt and i clean it every other day or so cause i get that smell too. Its cause the poo is not drying out. Sand helps with drying it out or having loose dirt so that they will be kicking it all over and that will help dry it out. As for the deep litter method, it basically works that you just add more shavings too it and you dont clean it out as much. Most people only clean it once a year and you just keep adding shavings to it every once in awhile. I do this but clean it twice a year cause if it starts looking dirty i start having issues with it.
