Confusing EE/Did I end up with all boys!?

I found the entry point btw. It dug under the pots and the door and went through a fairly small hole. Hard to see in pictures but it really is not that big of an area.

I still can not for the life of me figure out how the heck it got the chicken out of the pen though. No way in heck if dragged it back out that hole. Especially since the pots and the door and table were not disturbed or moved. And the feathers were on the other end of the pen. So maybe it dragged it back out the front? It’s just a mystery to me. They are pretty big now. They wouldn’t fit through the door or the fence I don’t think. Maybe it took it out piece by piece? But no blood. No trace of him at all actually except those feathers and the excavation.

Thank you!! Thankfully it wasn’t one I wanted to keep this time but it still sucks!! And even worse is the mystery of not knowing where he is or how it even got him out.

We have hawks, owls, raccoons, coyotes, fox, skunks, rats, and while I have never personally seen one I do believe we have weasels.

You also have fishers, another possibility. Time for a game camera.

Yes I put some cinder blocks back there as well as some big heavy frozen bags of dirt which I know probably won’t do anything but made me feel better ha but mostly used the cinder blocks. I am going to fully wrap both pens tomorrow.

That’s true! Forgot about those! Although I’ve never seen them here but maybe I wouldn’t. Would they be able to fit through such small holes though? But yes, I plan on getting one to see what it is. But I am also going to be tightening up the security.

Right!? It’s super weird!! Could a rat have done that? Would they even take a chicken? They are 12 weeks old so pretty big. I am going to get a camera for sure. Maybe tomorrow?
