Has anyone seen this? It's in the new Neiman Markus catalog for $100,000! It's super cute, but insane. Here's a link to some more:

Wow, super crazy. My financee was telling about this earlier and I was meaning to look it up. Thanks for posting... still I prefer the coops I've built.

Looks great until the chickens live inside it and everything is covered in feather dust, for that price it should come with a butler! WOW

Not sure I am. Our coop isn't attached to it's foundation, just resting on it. Aren't they are saying 60-70 mph gusts?

I may just bring them in like we did for Irene. I big hassle, but I'll sleep better.

Hope everyone is ready for Sandy!
I got on here today to see what fellow Nutmeggers were posting & doing about Sandy. Must be more doing than posting about it, huh? I've been pretty relaxed about the prospect, but it is gradually dawning on me that this really might be a doozy! I didn't buy water when the rest of the state seemed to Friday & yesterday,'cause I'm still not quite sure what the point is; I don't have a well, is city water gonna fail? Well, I have a Brita-type filter pitcher, and some as-yet-unreturned soda bottles, so I guess I'm okay. Everything in my apartment is electric, so if we lose power--UGGHH!

Of course I'm getting worried about the girls. their coop & run is way in the back of the yard, closer to the woods than the house. Which means more trees to fall, and a long walk in high wind and rain to go check on them, open & close the coop, feed & water them (I may just let them drink rain water, not empty and refill the water dishes as I usually do). My -non-chicken-keeping friend just offered me a Huge cat carrier to house them during the storm. She has a good heart, but um, 9 chickens, I don't think so.

What are the rest of you doing to prepare?

We'll see how the night goes. I may be bringing them in. Last time I put them in the garage and that got and inch of water which they weren't psyched about. I still can't wrap my brain around this storm.

Hi CT peeps! I hope this finds you well, and we all still have power to read it.

I spent 2 days getting ready for this storm.
The hen house is buttoned up to keep as dry as possible and I put the girls in the garage.
I worry about the tree falling on the hen house. Great for shade in summer, but not great for wind.
I'll sleep better knowing they're in the garage.

Good luck everyone!

It's times like these that we all remember why it's so important to have enough square footage per bird in our coops. No one is coming out today, or tomorrow for that matter. Hope everyone is OK.
