Connecticut!

I like cheese too much to ever be vegan. :) Aww. I'm sorry. :(  I would love to have all the chickens in the world if I lived in a place suited for it. I have a small backyard and a small-ish coop and I don't plan on staying here indefinitely. My goal is to resist getting chicks next spring.

Thats EXACTLY what I said! That and ice cream. I think vegetarian is good enough. Maybe one day when soy cheese is better I will switch

aww @ your frozen netting! and :( @ the 2nd year.

and aww @ the frozen automatic door!

I hope hope hope our new roof holds up to the weather,
I didn't think I would have to move fallen branches off the top,
(those broken branches are on the roof in the photo above)
certainly they could crack it - I actually think the layer of ice saved it.
The majority of the pieces thankfully fell behind the shed -it's a disaster back there.

Three is a good number

If you don't eat meat and want to get rid of birds you could always sell them livestock auction in Durham every Mondays. At least then you didn't kill them and you make money at the same time to buy feed or something.

Well looks like I'm gonna have to do some coop cleaning toward the end of the week when it's warmer, since they trashed the coop from spending so much time in there over the last few weeks **** it!!!!

Are any of you guys bringing birds to congress? Also ive acquired a blue Barnevelder roo so I will have blue chicks this spring!

That sounds good I am going too breed my blue English orp also,he is beautiful and huge and he's only 6 months old,I also have a lavender orp same age,Wish I could post pics but don't know how.

I'm in Easton. I have friends in Woodbridge - beautiful area. It would be great to meet people from this thread at fairs or swaps next year. I may go to the congress show.

Woodbridge is indeed beautiful! I'm always in awe of how suddenly it turns woodsy and serene as soon as you cross over from New Haven.

Me too! I probably can't travel too far, but anywhere in CT or Western MA certainly. I'd love to talk about chickens! I started out intending to just have a small backyard flock, and now I've got the green light from my husband to breed a few kinds of chickens. I guess it's chicken math? I'm loving it though :) I'd love to talk about your blue barnevelders - I have some on order from GFF. They are so beautiful. :)
