Hi, I will ask him about the other engineer one. Your right too many Mike's floating around....lol..... I will ask my Hubby about the Nov 1st Quail and let you know. What breed are these suppose to be? Do you use a bator to do all this hatching? If yes maybe we could hook up and I can share a hatch with you and give you the eggs to hatch or something?? Let me know, Thanks Beth
PS By the way Mums the word I won't ever say a thing!!

They are going to be jumbos as well. I do have manchurians and tuxedos coming, but need to wait to start hatching from them. I have 30 jumbo eggs in my bator right now, but also have some chicks coming. A friend lent me the bator and said I could keep it for as long as I wanted. But I already hinted to my husband that I would like my own and that it would make a great birthday gift for my 40th. I would really like a Brinsea EX model. I will be really hatching then...lol
I would love to share a hatch or hatch some eggs, just let me know.
Jenn

Okie Dokie, So when will your bator be empty? And what breeds do you want to work on: Ameracaunas, Orps, Australorps, Mixed Breeds, or all that is listed?

You did?? That is awesome!! My husband doesn't believe in using man-made units. He believes I should let the hens do it. I hear you have a better hatch rate when using the bator. (on a side note I do sneak my eggs in some friends bators but, none are using theirs right now!) If he only knew.......oh boy watch out..............lol

It will be empty Nov 15th, so I will be itching to get more eggs in there.

Coturnix will almost never brood their own chicks so a bator or other breed broody hen is the only option.

I've had some 90% + hatch rate on shipped Coturnix eggs in a bator.

Hi Purple,

Is the humidity easy to control in that model? Thanks so much!

Easier to maintain than most bators. During lockdown I'd fill the wells and put in paper towels for a little extra.
