BYC is terrible about sending notifications any more. @OzawkieBantams , Good to see you here again , Daren! Yeah this thread has died out the last couple years. We didn't even have a good bunch of newbies this spring like normal. It's been one of those years!! I used to look forward to reading all the updates every morning.
I'm still knee deep in the birds but always intend to reduce more and more. I had more business this fall than I did this spring.
Anyone want any free Muscovy drakes? I've got a ton of them and still need to reduce the feed bill.

Danz those drakes would make some good eating if anyone wants to take the time to butcher them. I processed 5 of my own Ancona drakes awhile back & we had two for dinner right after that. They were awesome. The Muscovys are much bigger too.

I've butchered so many ducks but I've never butchered a Muscovy. I hear their meat is a lot darker. I have no room in my freezer for more poultry of any kind. And I really like these guys. They just seem to be naturally tame. Plus I really really hate butchering. Maybe someone will want to have a couple muscovy for Christmas or New Years!!!

Danz, there is a man near Wichita, who buys Muscovy ducks, but he usually wants 50. He has bought mine, for the last few years. I am about 160 miles from him, and he makes the trip. I also have more drakes, than I wanted to winter, but not near 50.

Ralph, would you mind sending me his contact information by PM. I sold over 100 muscovies this fall. Maybe if I offer them to him free he'd come get them. I really don't know how many I have right now. I used to sell all my ducks and chickens to a lady who took them to KC to a market. But it's been years since I contacted her.

I might take you up on those drakes, just as soon as I am clear of “The Row-Knee!” ( Covid)
