If you read the label on a bag of floor dry you get from the auto parts store. It states 100% DE. $7.00 for a big bag. Iv been using it solely for my quail since early spring and they are fat and happy. Loaded the dust pans today as a matter of fact. They eat it, roll in it, throw it and sand everywhere, make a big mess and have a great time!!! I enjoy watch'in the show as much as they love dust bath'n. Bill

Does the Oskaloosa Car Quest I mean NAPA carry it?

Good to know Bill........ You da man

Mine practically live on hot mashes in the winter. I don't do it so much in the summer but if I end up with a lot of powder in the bottom of the feeder after all the pellets are eaten, I will sometimes mix the powder into a mash so it doesn't go to waste.

Be careful making wet food. If they don't eat it all up quickly it can go sour really fast in the heat. And of course if there is any left in the pan it can get moldy. I think if you dump it out on the ground after they are done eating it they tend to like to eat the rest, and the excess moisture goes out so it isn't as likely to go bad. Crazy bird just have a thing about eating off the earth.

Sometimes they just get tired of stuff. If you can feed grain without the corn for a few weeks then add it back in. Corn puts on fat and in hot weather they don't need the fat.

corn is a treat in our coop - i have a log and a 5 gal bucket out in the yard (no rodent have gotten ityet)

when i sit on that log - they KNOW - and they come running - the only way they get it is if they eat out of a hand - even my roos are willing to be nice and let you pet em if they are getting corn lol

now i just need to grow more hands

Well the god dam roosters took out one of my producing hens yesterday. I'm actually going to enjoy chopping these guys up.
