I know you have a sense of humor, but it's hard to explain how forums have to be handled a bit differently. Not EVERYONE reading our posts knows each one of us, and so what may be funny or inside humor can give someone else the wrong idea. It's also important to be sensitive to the tone, because if you go around talking about how one doesn't have her 'facts straight' you might offend them, or worse, you might cause someone else's impression to change. I didn't go into the type of flood I would wait for or what my reference point was, but it did take the runoff into account in saying it...but I wasn't writing my dissertation at that moment, so I just made a comment, for crying out loud. I was thinking of '93, personally, and when you jumped to conclusions and corrected me, you made a statement that wasn't sensitive!

Didn't your mother teach you that if you haven't something nice to say, say nothing?!?

Sheesh! I hate the Jr. High atmosphere around here, sometimes...and don't you dare correct me and tell me it's Middle School in Lawrence now.

Here's the really frightening thing: you're just as likely (if not MORE) to swim with poop at the swimming pool.

I'm at home sweating or in my backyard with a hose. When I get my own island I'll invite you all over to swim, poop-free!!

BTW, I guess it was obviouos I DID take offense to the "hypochondriac" and the "get out and live" statement. Actually not sure it was directed at me, but I was offended by it, even if it wasn't directed at me.

Heat makes every one a bit more sensitive and irritable. Daren has an awesome sense of humor, but sometimes I guess it is hard to see a smiling face when you are reading. He does make an valid point. We all need to enjoy life! I spent too many years in a corporate world and am really living for the first time. Raising birds is an excellent way to just enjoy life!
I have an RO-DI system that I set up for salt water tanks. It is a great way to get pure water for your own bottled water. The worst part of course is buying those expensive filters. They are over $50 each and don't last very long.
