Yeah, it's time to move out my basement brooder kids, too- and it will be lovely Tues from what I hear, so as long as I leave a lamp in part of the Banty Shanty, all of the outside kids should be fine. Moved 10 out to the farm yesterday, and more will go out tomorrow. This will leave me in a more legal status as far as numbers go. Well, not really, but I'll keep living with illusions.

Guess it had to happen sometime - LOL Someone left the north door open and now we have all of this cold air to deal with. Those warm sunny days were sure nice while they lasted.

Brrrrrrrr. I just got done checking the girls, and it's definitely winter. Frozen water buckets galore, oh, my. Still, the girls seemed warm and cozy so I left the heat lamp off. I'm always amazed at how well animals deal with the cold. Ok, going to bed now.

Down to 16 last night, but sun shining today thank goodness. Still 40 in the coop ... so far so good. Guys at work have been making fun of me, saying I'll have those chickens in the house when it gets too cold, but I think we'll pass for now.

They seem to be happy right where they are .. fewer eggs but we can live with that.

Anybody have snow already?
