Coop Build Deja Vu

Got a bit more done today . Level marked and cut all 4 x 4's at height needed and got top plate on .

Made a single truss to check fit , will use for a pattern for the others .

All the trusses are made , glued , screwed , gusseted .

Parked em here for the night

Even made the fly rafters for both ends , will go for 8" over hang

Got started on the trusses today , nice sunny morn then started clouding over , then felt the rain drops .

Back end fly rafter is on along with 4 trusses , got some purlins in too .

Ordered the Roofing this morn , figured while I could still find it in stock I better get it . The same silver finish Galvalume ribbed metal roofing I used on my coop .

Yes , I would say I am . I enjoy building and especially something for my daughter and grand kids and son in law makes it even more satisfying .

Today's progress , didn't get started until noon time , distance learning with the 3 boys eats up most of the mornings . Got all the trusses on and some of the purlins . Still need to put the fly rafter on the front end .

Picked up the roof panels and ridge cap and screws today . I placed the order the other day , Lowes is the only place around here that stocks it so the nearest Lowes that showed stock got the order . They called last evening saying they don't have it but could get it within a week . I said I'd call em back . Called another Lowes further away that showed stock to see if they actually had stock , which they did so I ordered from that one and canceled the other one , over an hour on the phone between the 2 stores . They were short 100 screws when I picked up but the associate went right inside and grabbed another box of screws for me . After that I took the rest of this miserable chilly rainy day off Oh yea , I only had to buy 1 - 10' ridge cap because I saved the 5' left over from my coop build last year

Frustrating that the online stock isn't always(rarely) accurate.
Most staff is happy to go look tho.....they get it.
At least you didn't 'waste' a sunny day.

Yes , the staff there was great , they wheeled it out to my truck and even offered to load it for me .
And yes , I'm glad I didn't waste a sunny day too
