2 deep!!
In the small window, 4 of them piled on there, when I went to grab one that was sleeping on the floor, she jumped right on top of the pile, I couldn't even see one of my Australorps!! I wish I would have taken my camera, my kids were inside tonight, too many bug bites!! I was trying to hold a flashlight and do this at the same time. There aren't very many flat spots in the coop to set my little flashlight, finally I stuck it in a crack where the ceiling meets the 2 x4 . I can't imagine if I was trying to hold my camera too ~ But I missed out on a funny photo op.
I too wanted my chicken coop where I can see it from the house.... outside my bedroom window
Some people think I am crazy, but you know... it comes with having chickens!! We have about half acre in the city, multiple, multiple neighbors, I could have put it down at the bottom of our yard, but that seemed to far away. I wanted them close, so I could look at them if I wanted!! I wish I would have put thier pen more to the house side, although I still have a pretty good view from my DD's room. When we were looking to buy our first house and this house 6 years ago, my husband tried to convince me to move to an acreage, i wouldn't think of it. Too far out from town, and so forth... well now with my chickens, I asked him if we could move!!
He laughed at me!!! My two year old wants to bring a cow to our house now too, I don't think the city or my Husband will approve. And I really wouldn't wanna clean up after a cow in the yard. I would like to get a goat or two, my 7 year old wants a sheep.... Maybe in 10 years we can move he said.
So until then, I will be happy being allowed my 6 chickens that live here on a yearly permit.
We will have a small place for them to free range, we don't have but 3 ft, and 4 ft chain link around most of our yard and I don't trust the neighbors dogs..
