I will have eggs for sale later this winter or early spring when the girls start laying. I have posted some photos of mine earlier but will be glad to post some more.

Darkeggs.com has a variety of cornish. They have buff, dark, and WLR in standard, and blue, BLR, white, WLR, spangled, and dark bantams.

Ya, I wonder what their souce is...?? Do you suppose those eggs are hatchery quality, half bloods?

I tried the dark egg thing but every one i clicked on said paypal recipient not taking orders at this time. Chickened what color cornish bantams do you have? I used to have some very nice dark cornish bantams that I loved but moved and had to sell everything. This go around I just got dc standards and the blr cornish bantams.

Maybe they aren't selling chicks until the spring?? This is the normal time for chickens to molt and stop laying. I know that when I was looking in june that the sight was taking orders, because they where out of a lot that I wanted so I didn't order.

Pretty sure they're all poor hatchery stock. I'd be confident to bet on it honestly, because considering all that they sell, sounds like a typical other hatchery who got their stock from hatcheries to me. In order to maintain GOOD Cornish you'll need to pay more, and pay more attention to your stock and how it breeds, in other words, cut back on your other breeds.

cut back on your other breeds

the most important part... I struggle at most times... but figure if I keep adding to the cornish side, and subracting away from the others- then I'll be fine.

Such a true statement............. yeah I have seen their birds in person and they are just regular set your program back 4 yrs kinda birds, but as most BYCer's think they gotta start somewhere and it is usualy at the very bottom when ordering any run of the mill trash Hatchery Cornish. Every time I get folks asking me OOOhhh OOOohhhh can we get some of your stock, then when they get my regular price, if it is anything over $10.00 they waft like you just shot an arrow through their wallet with a trident missile. I tire very quickly of the cheapo's who think they want decent birds if they ever saw them but can't rub 2 nickles together for birds that have taken many long years and many thousands of $$ to develop to the point to sell great SQ birds. Personaly I don't have the time nor the patients for these folks. yes good stock in LF Cornish is extremely rare to find, ever think why ???. If you can't answer that Q get your birds from whatever chickens .com and quit trying to fit in with the big dog's if you only have a hatchery budget, or just start a silkie flock for $3.00.

Sorry folks been one of those day's and it's just a Wed LOL. but seriously, good Cornish breeders deal with 40 Bazillion more issues that any other regular breed, and yet we stay the course, because of our passion for these chunks of chickens only the greek god's can breed, is a task not for the weary of heart.

Big Medicine said it best, Gary said you have to be half looney to raise good Cornish !!
