It is widely believed that the percentage of asymptomatic carriers is greater than the percentage tested. The number tested has by and large been determined by the showing of symptoms. Random testing at any significant level is minimal.
There is now some published evidence that many of those who have died and tested positive for Covid-19 had one or more life threatening health issues.
However, it seems that here in Spain at least if you are tested positive for Covid-19 and you die, the cause of death on the death certificate is deemed to be Covid-19 and not any of the underlying health conditions. It seems very little research has gone into establishing if the cause of death was in fact Covid-19 or some underlying health condition.
There is always going to be the personal tragedy of someone one knows dying, whether they die from Covid-19 or some other illness.
It would to me seem very important that we know who is dying from what though.
