They never got me a pony either lol. I'm sure everyone has a "but you promised me a pony!" story but my mom actually dangled it over me for 5th grade, then after I delivered straight As for the entire year as well as student of the quarter as per the deal, said that I was being ridiculous and didn't I know how much a horse cost? I never believed any of her "promises" after that.

It’s one thing to tell a kid “maybe” or “I’ll think about it” or something once or twice but to keep it going like that, that long, and actually make demands/promises like that.... that’s just cruel.

Would have been better to just tell you you couldn’t have one, I feel like.

Maybe she thought she was protecting you by not just telling you no? Worried it’d upset you?

She figured I'd just forget it or something, I have no idea. I asked her about it years later but she said she didn't remember making any promises and if she did, she was sorry and hadn't meant it. *shrug*

My brother gets it, he's very adamant about not promising his kids anything unless he knows he can deliver, because he doesn't want them experiencing the same sort of let down.

Hey, I finally reached the end again! That's two nights in a row!

Before I sign off, I'll add one more positive note. I had three eggs in the incubator left over from my Easter HAL staggered hatch experiment. There were five, last night, but two got tossed. I almost tossed the last three, thinking that they really didn't look right and it had been way too long, but something told me to leave them one more day. Well, as I type this, I have one drying baby and another beak peeping from a rather large hole in its' egg. The third egg has a sizable pip and is resting before it zips. Despite everything else going on in the world ... Life is Good!

I'ma gonna sign off quickly now, before things start attaching to the end of the thread. Goodnight All!

I can imagine how your feel. Gosh those babies know what they're doing. Never change their position after moving them if you have to. LSS. I had a perfect hatch of 8 Jerseys. One of them pipped and was doing great. But a sibling bumped it and rolled it around. The baby died with beak out but underneath. Since then I make bands that just make the eggs maintain their position.
