Y'all were talking a few pages back about whether people could be trusted to maintain social distancing, washing their hands, etc., if they lifted the restrictions. Some would, but they'd be in the minority, I think. My relative that lives near, that wanted to visit last week and I told her no, called again over the weekend. She has grandkids about the age of my Kid (13) and wanted to know if he could come over to visit them. Normally they come over here. Again I declined. I know she does a lot of boredom shopping and getting her nails done, etc. When I sell eggs, I'm like some of you, but I not only put the cash in a Baggie right away, but later I actually wash it in bleach water and then hang it up to dry. Do I trust other people to be conscientious about hygiene? Not for a minute.
Most people seem to have no clue. I am surprised more have not died.

I think he is traumatized by the whole thing. 😕
I sure am, I vowed not to enter a store until it was over. But I'm the one still working, DW was laid off before this and kids home with schools closed so I 'sucked it up butter cup', I do the shopping. I just wear a handkerchief bank robber style. Actually giving away masks everywhere here handmade one's so no excuse. Easy to make them out of anything anyway, no sewing required. Guy that has a bussiness in the town our kids go to school has given away thousands of them. Just fold it up, add a couple hair ties or rubber bands, instant face mask.

Maybe they just didn't have masks. I only got masks for DH and self a little over a week ago. Got some a few weeks ago I don't like, ordered over the internet, don't think they cover the face properly and cost way too much. DD likes them and will wear, not sure one will fit DS. Not really a problem yet bc he does not go anywhere. I think he is traumatized by the whole thing. 😕
My husband is like a hermit. Only goes to our nearby little town for groceries. His father is in bad shape, put in hospice. I doubt hubby will be able to go to the funeral if his dad dies. It's a long trip.

I have heard a few people speak of "mass hysteria" and one guy went off talking about the government making up a health scare to "control the masses." I stayed well away from him. He obviously doesn't think hand-washing is necessary.
Edit typo. I can spell, I just can't type on this little bitty keyboard with one finger. Then I forget to edit. 😆

For the first time in six weeks we did something social. Daughter invited us to an outdoors pizza party with social distancing. Bathroom was disinfected for the Princess, and men had to use the great outdoors. :lau We went, and it was great fun - no hugging or kissing just good talk. Son in laws step father (Italian) couldn't understand why we couldn't hug. Neither could the neighbor (Italian). They sure are huggy people. We've really missed them, and it was a great boost for the Princess's morale. :love
I'm Italian, myself - born and raised with people who "no speaka too gooda da Inglish!" This "No Huggin" thing is KILLIN' ME!

This made me laugh. :lau

Little rant not a rant, hard to be a rant beings I don't get  😆. Just couldn't believe today. Have heard it but not witnessed it. Masks are mandatory in NY now, since last Fri. I personally disagree with it but whatever. I wear one when I go to a store. Been over a week now EVERYONE wearing one so no big deal. Today saw between leaving work, stopping at a dollar store and a gas station, dozens of people without masks going right into stores that have notices that masks are required... One was a mother with a maybe 10 yr old kid. Pretty pathetic when us 'hillbillies' that disagree with the mandate comply, and the bunch of NYC people coming up for the weekend do not, they were all city people. And that was the first kid I've seen in a store since this started.
Next time you see somebody without a mask, ask 'em for an address ... so you know where to send the flowers!
