What? You guys are getting packages?
I sure ain't.
When school closed they gave us all the info to get the upcoming work offline.
Well we don't have a computer, tablet, etc so I had to request the paper version and go to school for pick up every Wed.
The school said we would be at a big disadvantage not going paperless. Well not much I can do about that I said.
They said oh there's places that will give poor hillbilly trash like you a free tablet. Ok they didn't call me that just made it seem like they were.
BTW our school is only one in the area that won't provide tablets to students.
Long story still long I filled out requests to each one by one being turned down each time.
Our youngest ones teacher said oh I'll try a few things and get you a used one if you don't mind.
Of course not as long as it works figuring what the hell I already feel about as low as possible for not having one or being able to afford on at the moment.
After a couple more weeks still no luck. No one wants to donate a tablet.
By thjs time it has been a month or so so ive scrapped up a few bucks and see walmart has one on sale for $40. I go to Wal-Mart and of course they're sold out but the next cheapest is $50.
Oops sorry sold out of those to. Cheapest available in the 3 closest stores is $129. Can afford that.
2 days later I find one online from Wal-Mart. $37 and some odd cents. Only one left. Will arrive in 4 days.
I go to Wal-Mart put money on my prepay card and order asap before its gone.
Delivery date comes and goes. Says delayed will arrive tomorrow. It now 6 days after tomorrow and still no delivery. No update and no way to contact Wal-Mart or FedEx. Both make you go though text BS then say I'll get a customer service person in like 84 minutes.
I lay phone down and wait. Everytime it disconnects before ever getting anyone on the line.
That reminds me it's Wed I need to go to town and pick up some homework folders.

That's terrible! 😱

OH! And in OTHER NEWS... we are getting a TSC!!! We've not had one in the area before. It's going to be 30 miles away from me in a direction way opposite where my Wal-Mart and local feed store is, but now I'll get to see what all the hoo-hah is, you guys all talking about it and Chick Days and all that. So! That's my news! 😆

Edit, I shoulda said ..."and feed store ARE." It's called Orscheln's. Anybody outside MO have that?

People and institutions just assume everyone has computers and phones and all the rest of the gadgets that most seem to have.
I get a similar reaction when people say to me I'll give you a ring or send you a text and I say I don't have a phone. Same with a bank account. Same with a car. I do have computers though and obviously I have the Internet at the moment.
My thinking is if a school sets itself up as computer based teaching then they need to supply whatever is needed. I didn't get asked to take paper and books to school when I was school age.

It aggravates me a bit when the news gives you a snippet, or a "tease" about something of interest, and then says, "For more information, check out our Facebook page or go to YouNeedToKnowDotCom" for example (I just made that up, I don't know if such a site exists). If they want me to know something, why don't they just tell me? Don't they realize there is a huge segment of the population that does not use or have computers? My dad didn't, for the last 20 years of his life, but he wanted to be informed. A lot of us live in rural areas where the internet is spotty at best. And then there are the poor and disenfranchised, who can't afford computers. It's arrogant to assume that "everybody" has something.

Edit, typos, sigh.

Okaaaayyyy.... you gotta tell us the rest of this story, Kiddo. That's too much of a tease! 🤣🤣🤣
:lau I ordered some worms for composting last week and they got here today so I opened the bag to add water then got distracted by the chickens outside and left the open bag on the counter, stupidly on its side too, thinking they wouldn’t possibly go anywhere, and I come back and a bunch had crawled out of the bag and landed on the floor and a few on the counter hahaha

They were crazy too. Wiggling all over the place and super active.

Well, at least I can say they are healthy and active. :lau :th

I think I got them all thankfully though. Hopefully. Lmao

They were mostly in one spot.

I was picking them up with paper towels cause I was too grossed out to touch them. :lau 🙈

I thought they’d be like half dead and stay put but I guess not. :lau :th
