I didn't get asked to take paper and books to school when I was school age.

You didn't? I did. There was a list of items for each grade level that you were expected to bring. I'm not from a rich place. Back then the schools provided some supplies for those who could not afford them, like what they appear to be doing with laptops.

I don't see anything different other than people who do not have internet. That part puts some at a major disadvantage.

So ... if you don't have gophers before you started, and you use the traps. Do they get a bad review because they didn't catch anything or a good one you don't have any gophers in the yard, now? :D
 I am hoping it kills the moles, but I have gophers too. No, I don’t mean the grabby stick either.

Look on Amazon for refurbished next time. They have really good prices.
I bought myself and Duckling each a tablet two years ago on Amazon. While I sometimes think it sounds spoiled, it is just the way it is, and has been for a while. She used it to watch Frozen and Moana 1,754,875 times a day. I paid $35 for her tablet new. That was of course another reason to do it.
That being said, we had 7 children in the public school system when we were all required to have $$ scientific calculators that were over a hundred dollars each. The school argued with our parents, and we just never got a good grade on the assignments or tests. No compensation was made.

:lau I ordered some worms for composting last week and they got here today so I opened the bag to add water then got distracted by the chickens outside and left the open bag on the counter, stupidly on its side too, thinking they wouldn’t possibly go anywhere, and I come back and a bunch had crawled out of the bag and landed on the floor and a few on the counter hahaha

They were crazy too. Wiggling all over the place and super active.

Well, at least I can say they are healthy and active. :lau :th

I think I got them all thankfully though. Hopefully. Lmao

They were mostly in one spot.

I was picking them up with paper towels cause I was too grossed out to touch them. :lau 🙈

I thought they’d be like half dead and stay put but I guess not. :lau :th

Sooooooooo......no baiting hooks for you then? :pop

Guess its like most things. When you're around them everyday they don't seem as cool as they do to the ones that aren't.
Unless said equine is attached to a teenage girl in your household ... then they become worth the weight of their manure in gold ... as bribes and therapy masters!

People and institutions just assume everyone has computers and phones and all the rest of the gadgets that most seem to have.
I get a similar reaction when people say to me I'll give you a ring or send you a text and I say I don't have a phone. Same with a bank account. Same with a car. I do have computers though and obviously I have the Internet at the moment.
My thinking is if a school sets itself up as computer based teaching then they need to supply whatever is needed. I didn't get asked to take paper and books to school when I was school age.
Lots of people and places make those sorts of assumptions. We have Internet, but no TV at my house. No Netflix. No Cable, No Disney or History Channel. I have never seen Tiger King or Game of Thrones. If it's not in our extensive movie collection or available online ... we don't watch it. Until fairly recently, our Internet was super-slow dial-up, so we didn't have online gaming, either. And y'know what? I DON'T MISS ANY OF IT! My kids are rather proud that they've grown up outside and not in front of a television. It's pretty darned cool!
