I’m on a medication that if I don’t take it... I die. So I don’t see how taking it is a problem to others since my life is of value.
I never implied your life doesn't have value. I just don't understand how, as a species, we've gotten to this point.
I look at wildlife that eat real food and I don't know a jaguar or hippo that is on regular medication.
Humans for the most part, don't eat real food. Artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, preservatives, MSG, etc. or just things out of a package are pervasive in the human diet. The human body doesn't know what to do with those things. The end result is unknown but more often than not, disease.
After my mother died, I went to my father's house. He had a table that was solidly covered with medications. I said, "Dad, why don't you get rid of all these meds you are no longer taking."
He said, "I take all those"
I said, "I think it is time you found a new doctor."
He said, "Oh no, I have a wonderful doctor."
He was dead a year later.
I call that 'practicing medicine'.
Let's try this for your hypertension, this for that shoulder pain, this for that insomnia, this for that indigestion, this for that pancreatitis, this for those Crohn's symptoms and that for IBD.
It is no surprise to me that when people consume so much fake stuff and then mix in all those drugs, the outcome isn't good.

Hmm. Gonna be googling dishwashers today, I think! And, how to replace a seal.
If I can replace a faucet from YouTube, I know you can replace a dishwasher seal ... and I can tell you from first-hand experience, it's an ex-TREME-ly satisfying accomplishment!

EDIT - typo & a missing word!

I’m plant based and have been for a very long time. I wouldn’t say my eating habits are what caused my lung disease.

I’d say animals in the wild just die. If we went by how the animals survive most of us would be dead. Thankfully we have wonderful doctors who can help us improve our quality of life.

There are doctors out there that only are in it for the money and give medication just to make their patientsThere are doctors out there that only are in it for the money and give medication just to make their patient leave them be... good thing I don’t have a dr like this.

At 22 I was told I had 6 months without medical intervention. I’m now 33. Not all medicine or drs are bad.

Door seal is easy
Pump seal is a little more difficult

I am somebody who values all human life and I cannot get the concept of people thinking that medicine is just junk and doctors just hand out medication just because it’s there... A lot of medications prolong somebody’s life for a very long time, which to me is wonderful because everyone deserves a life whether it’s with medication or not.

I value a strangers life more than I value my own because that’s the way I was brought up to love everybody whether I don’t like their opinions or not, no matter if they vote for somebody I like or not... I really have a true value for human life and I cannot imagine telling somebody that they should live like an animal lives and just die...

I think I need to remove myself from this thread for the rest of the day. I am just having a hard time hearing that nobody should be on medications... my brother has Crohn’s disease and without his infusions he would be dead... my father was on life-support for a month after a doctor messed up on his colonoscopy... my aunt just got done with chemo... but none of them should have these meds... DISGUSTING is all I can say. I’m sorry guys I just can’t

My Dad is in the same boat - many, many meds, but the difference is that he seems to need them. He needs surgery to remove a bleeding cyst (controlled by meds,) but when he comes off the thinners & other things getting in the way of surgery, he has a heart attack. Without his mini pharmacy, he'd be a dead "jaguar or hippo." That's the difference between the natural selection in the Way of the Wild and modern human technology. True, some doctors and patients overdo it, but I, for one, am glad the technology is here. Without it, half my family would be gone. Among them are my Dad, my Mom (BC survivor,) my brother (brain cancer survivor,) my nephew (pediatric cancer survivor,) and who knows how many aunts, uncles and cousins who made it past heart attacks due to preventive medications.
Again - none of this is meant as criticism, just explanation. I am genuinely grateful for my current health, with or without medication. I am also VERY happy for you and your family. It's nice to know that there's stlll some strength in human genetics!

It's all good. Just breathe, Friend! I don't think anyone intended to point fingers or criticize. You know how text-only messages can distort what we originally intended to say. It's really hard to get a true opinion, or even a valid point, across when we can't hear voice inflections or see a facial expression. Then we just dig ourselves in deeper trying to explain things away.
At the risk of repeating myself ... It's ALL GOOD! Let's just move on ...

On a MUCH brighter note ... I am caving in to DD's request for an outing. Despite the extra Covid-isolation-induced pounds ... DIET-BE-HANGED ... We're about to go out for soft-pretzels and milkshakes! :celebrate

I get what you're saying.
I was pointing out what people think and reality when it's them is different.

Most people sooner or later will be on some kind of maintenance RX...or die
