Depends which 12.5%. Like in a wolf hybrid, everyone wants an animal that thinks and behaves like a dog but looks like a wolf. When I was training, I often got calls from people who had animals that were 100% wolf between the ears and they couldn't handle them at all. It was so sad. There was this completely wild animal trapped in a dog's body, being forced to live in a tiny back yard in the middle of civilization in a way it just couldn't adapt to. Or worse, in a house, and the animal was tearing the furniture apart trying to create a den. Breeders either didn't know or didn't care that they had no control over where the DNA was going to end up, they were just churning out whelps to make a buck.Yeah I definitely see those ones too! Or at least one of them and maybe the other breeds made him black or who knows lol and wow that’s crazy!! You definitely can’t tell by looking! Haha Libby looks a lot like a Lab and I personally think hound, she’s got the big goofy hound ears and stuff but supposedly doesn’t have any in her lol but she’s got the huge boxer smile, the deep square chest like one, the front socks/markings up the legs like one, and acts just like one... big, goofy, playful baby even at over 2 years old lol and super sensitive and pouty just like oneyet supposedly she’s only like 12.5% or something. Genetics are funny LOL
Franklin acts so herding breed like lol whether that’s collie or Aussie idk. But so so fast and very vocal. But he is like half so makes sense![]()
Wild dogs are meant for the wild. That’s so sadDepends which 12.5%. Like in a wolf hybrid, everyone wants an animal that thinks and behaves like a dog but looks like a wolf. I honestly kinda wish wolf dogs weren’t a thing because most people have no clue how to handle them and should not have them!! And then you get the irresponsible jerk breeders scamming people with “wolf dogs” that have no wolf in them! Just a bunch of northern dog breeds. And even the super low content ones are still way too much to handle for most people. But people don’t care. They just want to follow the fad or whatever and then they both suffer.
it’s sad.
I’ve always thought a wolf dog would be cool but I know I could never handle one. There’s some DOG breeds I can’t even handle, let alone a wolf hahaI love my breeds only one I have to work with constantly is the beagle because the old owners left her outside alone all the time with no interactionSo many people acquire dogs that they can't manage! Never mind wild animals, and it's nuts.

Agreed! And it makes me so mad yet so sad too. Like so many people get Huskies, Aussies, Border Collies, even Malinois, all these intense working breeds, lately because they’re “popular” or “cute” and then can’t handle them and get mad at the dog for having so much energy or whatever! So many people acquire dogs that they can't manage! Never mind wild animals, and it's nuts.

At least you stopped some people! When people would ask my opinion if they should get a WH, I'd tell them no. And if they felt the desire or need to share their life with a wild animal, they should go out to the forest and mountains, take off all their clothes and go live in the wild with the animals. Because that's what it's like for the animal when you try to make it live in your world. It is completely foreign, unnatural, uncomfortable, spirit-crushing and ultimately deadly for that animal. Unfortunately, most people just did it without asking my opinion ahead of time, but those that did took my advice and didn't do it. So I didn't mind giving such brutal advice.
