Goodness, yes! I've read everything in the Bard's catalogue. My degree is in literature, minors in British and Ancient lit.

I'm such a nerd.
🤓
I would say something else too, but you live too close to me. ( I don't want to get beat up):lau:gig (my thoughts, not as bad as you might think)

I just couldn't get "into" Gatsby in high school. I mean, I got it ... mental illness, trying to fit in an awkward world ... but I didn't fully "get it." When DS read it, I read it again, too - and it clicked - for both of us. I actually cried for the man. The tale is so "identifyingly" sad, especially when you know the author's own story along with it. Then DD read it for school ... and just looked at us all befuddled when we tried to discuss it with her. I told her to put it away and read it again when she's thirty. I hope she remembers!
I'm an American Lit teacher in a HS out here. I teach this book every year. About half the kids see it as allegory for the unattainable American Dream. The other half think Daisy and Tom are jerks because they cheated on each other. Either way, they're right.

Wait really!? I actually never knew that!

Seems like there’s a lot of cases though where someone else takes the credit for something they didn’t do!!!

Like Columbus for “discovering” America. He never actually discovered anything. Other people were here well before him. Plus he was a murderer and r*pist 🙄🤦‍♀️

Not really sure how or why he was ever celebrated.
I celebrate Lief Erikson Day instead. Lol!
