I've been really distracted lately..... Don't see it letting up any time soon.

I am keeping my head above the water; barely above the waves- per say.

I will be back about mid week I suspect....

Y'all be good, and if your not gonna be 'good' - don't get caught. ;)

Okay, on a more serious note, we're back to another "Covid Moment." My church is having its' first services again this Sunday. If it's nice, the services (two - @ 8 & 10) will be outside. If it rains, they will move inside - one in the church and the other in the Parish Hall. If we are outside, we bring our own chairs. If we're indoors, they can only allow 54 people inside. Everyone has to mask up for the entire service and there will be NO singing! There will be no Sunday School or Children's Church and no Coffee Hour.
Regardless of where we meet, everyone has to sign in, so we can keep track of who was exposed if someone gets sick. I thought I was ready for this, but just the thought is breaking me out in hives. Will it never end?

:hugsOur church (population 12) has been having services for about a month. Our family is not going. The idea gives me hives, too! Our head elder is kind of livid about us not attending, but .... too bad. We will go when there is a vaccine. Even though they can probably practice social distancing, I don't know if they're wearing masks (probably not). Sounds like your church is being very careful. But only you can decide what you are comfortable doing. I wish you peace with your decision. It's not worth hives.

So tonight I made zucchini-corn fritters bc @FortCluck 's looked so amazingly good the other day! But mine weren't vegan or gluten free bc I didn't have the ingredients for that. Here's how I made them:

2 c grated zucchini (just one medium zuke, shredded fine)
1 onion, also shredded fine
1/2 can shoepeg corn, drained
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp salt (I wish I had added a tad more)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/4 c Italian seasoned bread crumbs

Stir well, and drop by teaspoon into hot oil in a skillet. Cook about 3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. DD declared these "scrump-diddly-icious" and DS barely tasted them before turning his nose up at them (no surprise!). DH and I couldn't get enough of them and I will be making another batch tomorrow!

YES!!! We were just talking about that in another thread!!! Kids see all these YouTubers and Viners and “social media influencers” on instagram and stuff like that and think they can get there too or win a video game tournament (some of them are big bucks) or even just have a viral tweet or video, etc. (look what happened to yodel kid and the cash me outside girl and even Alex from Target went on Ellen and stuff) and think they’ll be set for life. But that’s not how it works. Like yeah, most of the top YouTubers make tens of millions of dollars but they also worked their butts off to get there!!! They didn’t just get there overnight. And even now, it’s still a ton of work. Maybe even more than a “regular” job because they have to spend hours and hours editing the videos, not to mention recording them, plus planning exactly when to release them or what next weeks content will be, and manage the finances and/or hire someone, etc. etc. for most I know, it’s full time job hours (40+) and often far more than that. Staying up late at night and whatnot. Kids think you can just get a camera and hit record and that’s it but there’s A LOT of work that goes on behind the scenes. Not to mention time and money. Lots of money buying the expensive, high quality, top of the line camera and recording equipment to produce high quality videos. And then, if they do get famous, they’re jerks!!
And those education-free successes fail to mention that, the whole time they were busting their butts trying to make their blog, or their videos, or their whatever make money, they had a wife or husband working their own butts off to keep the bills paid and the health insurance current.
A big name country singer (and I wish I'd written down his name) was asked how it felt to suddenly be an "overnight success." His response was, "I wouldn't know. It took 32 years of hard work to get here."

Exactly!!! Kids don’t realize that and almost no one mentions it haha

Brandywine are amazing!!!! And I’ve never grown black cherry but have grown Black Krim and Cherokee Purple.
I LOVE my Cherokee Purples. Thi is the first time in years that I haven't had them and I'm MISSING them. They usually reseed themselves, but I guess the chickens cleaned up all the seeds, last fall. I'll have to start buying plants again!

I tried them for the first time last year and most ended up on the ground cause I didn’t stake 😭 then this year I left the seedlings out and the sun burnt almost all of my tomatoes and we had to go buy plants. :hide

I usually pay better attention 😂🤣🙈🙈

I think a LOT of us have been distracted this year. I can't understand why ... (cough, cough) ... I mean, really, it's not like we've got anything weighing heavily on our minds and hearts, ya know?
