I think a LOT of us have been distracted this year. I can't understand why ... (cough, cough) ... I mean, really, it's not like we've got anything weighing heavily on our minds and hearts, ya know?

I’ve been better this year than any other year with my garden. I have another zucchini I have some grape tomatoes I think there are 7 so far in my bowl. My Roma’s are growing like crazy! I’m waiting for them to get red they’re still green.

My garden is trying despite the later start this year. I've been noshing on fresh lettuces since the end of March, but I'm ready for some beans, zukes, and tomatoes. Can't wait to make the season's first Ratatouille....def a favorite I crave every summer when the tomatoes start ripening.
Getting the electric netting up around the garden this year has kept away the bigger critters so far, but already the bugs have had a grand time of it.

Just about time to dig up the garlic here!

I just bought more plants... A Mr. Stripey Tomato and some sweet pepper, I forgot the name. We have so many green tomatoes. I can’t wait for them to be red!

Another reusing materials project. It’s a bunny house and it’s HUGE! It’s 4 ft x 9 ft. It will have a run connected onto it too with a mini bunny garden in it.

These were privacy fencing panels we got from friends when they were redoing someone’s fencing.

We aren’t even close to being done, but it’s hot out and we are BURNT so I need aloe and some rehydration

Mr Stripeys are good. We need low acid tomatoes here and if I remember correctly Mr Stripey is one. Haven't grown it in a while...
When I'm making sauces and things I like to mix mostly low acids with a few higher acids that pack a flavor punch.

Making minestrone soup for myself with more zucchini I found in the garden.

I can’t wait till the tomatoes turn red! We have so many green ones.

This is the first year I’ve actually grown stuff I can eat I think it’s because I’m so busy with swim meets, but there aren’t any for the next couple months. My gardens are going to look amazing!

Have you ever grown Mr. Stripey, before? It's a wonderful tomato - really juicy and sweet and the fruit can get REALLY big! Once you cut them, you have to eat the whole thing. They don't keep well, either in the fridge or out on the counter. They go all mushy & turn sour overnight. As tough as it is to do, if you don't eat all of it in one sitting, feed the leftovers to your chickens before they go bad. As good as they are, though, that doesn't seem to be an issue around here. Once I cut a tomato, it's gone!

I broke down and took Gemzilla's baby away from her. She was an awesome Mama, but was waaaaaay too aggressive when we had to change water and feed her. I feel really badly, now, because she just sits in her kennel and quietly squawks, looking for the baby ... but she no longer bites! And the baby is doing well indoors in the brooder with the lonely chick ... now that one's quiet. As soon as I know that Gem is settled again, she can go back out to the coop. I;m hoping she'll start laying again, soon ... she's gotta earn her keep a different way, now!
