I was also homeschooled. Wasn't great for my social life or mental health, but learning wise I came out fine. I was in the 99th percentile on reading comprehension and didn't have a single score under 70th percentile on the SATs.

Honestly I think a year of home learning will be totally fine for most kids. it's not like they're going without social settings forever and learning doesn't stop just because you're at home or even doing fewer hours of work.

(Disclaimer for it sucks when parents aren't home/are too busy trying to make ends meet to actually help their kids along. My mom was a SAHM, so I had someone pushing me. Not everyone does or can do that.)

Tens of thousands of baby chicks are dying in transit in the mail right now. :T It's always weird to see chickens hitting mainstream news. This is just really sad.
I have at least 6 people wanting to get hatching eggs now but I'm very reluctant to put them in the mail for fear they won't get the priority treatment.
I don't even know what to tell people at this point.

The new postmaster general has vowed not to curtail overtime or remove any more equipment till after the election. But he was a little less forthcoming if all the high speed sorting machines or mailboxes recently removed will be replaced.

That really depends on where you're shipping to or from. :T

The circles are places where major reductions in handling capacity have taken place and how much they have. This is why maine in particular is hit so hard, and Ohio has it bad too.
And for no reason at all there's another map laid over this one in case people were wondering....

Thanks for posting that. I think there are other hard hit locales too. I for one (in eastern MO) have had three events this summer where I went 3 days in a row without mail deliver or pickup. That has never happened in my long life.

Not only do they have no intention of replacing the sorting machines. The removed machines have already been dismantled.
You would think at least they would keep them together so they would have resale value to other countries.

I read some of the machines were sent to recycling centers already
