I wasn't able to get the N95 masks to my house, though I ordered them over a month ago...but I did receive some of the replacement filters and I'm wondering if I could sew something for those as well for the staff that is working more closely with the sick patients.

I think the toilet paper run is a directly related to the government giving food and mres and water during times of crisis but no toiletries to go with the food they give. I guess the unprepared figures if anything the Gov will supply foods like mre

MREs back you up though. Two of those and you don't hit the head anytime soon! Lol not the best long term solution, but the Beef Patty, Beef Ravioli, and Jamaican Pork Chop and Imitation Pork Riblet are my favorites!

I have 2 MRE's in my cupboard. One is spaghetti and the other I forgot what it is.

Check the date, after 3 years they begin to expire, at least parts of them.

Thanks, SnapdragonQ and CluckNDoodle. I've had to order the elastic band and the non woven interfacing but I've got lots of cotton and I can get that part constructed until I can finish them!

This will give me something constructive to focus on. I deeply appreciate it!

MyMillie's video is very easy to follow and shows how to make the masks so a tighter weave of fabric or interfacing can be inserted, and removed, from in between the layers.
I just shared it with my quilting friends.

Do you remember what the standard was, CluckNDoodle?

I also have a huge stash of fabric. I'm sure I can work out a design -- it's incredibly simple -- but would it need to be 2 layers of fabric? Would some batting trap additional virus? Or would it make breathing through the layers more difficult?

With MyMilie's video you can make the masks now and insert the elastic or cording with a safety pin later.
