For your safety and all those around you, be prepared to quarantine for 14 days REGARDLESS of your test results. Of course follow your doctor's advice, but these are the quidelines. Hoping the test is negative!:)
We're all set to stay put. DS' work needs a pos test in the household to authorize him to stay home with pay, but he's called out for tomorrow, just in case. I go first thing, with DD in tow. I'm in for the duration, regardless. I'm long-terming in a first grade classroom - and there is NO WAY I'll expose those innocents. Well, there may be ONE I would consider coughing on, but ... NO I did NOT say that ... did I?
No, I won't risk children - theirs OR mine ... so I'm off for the week, at least, even for a negative test. Any longer will be decided by my doctor, not me. I'm ready (at least physically) to stay out & barricaded in my room.

Is it possible for your friend to get a second test? There are false positives and sinus difficulties aren't a symptom I've heard before.

Have you got a spot to isolate to until you and/or your friend get cleared?

Fingers crossed for ALL of you!
I can stay pretty much isolated at home simply by staying upstairs. It won't be fun, but I can manage. My buddy can do the same.
She tested positive for both Covid and the flu ... and all she had was a few sniffles & a sinus headache! The woman has a cast-iron constitution. She doesn't realize she's sick until she's flat on her back. The ONLY reason she got tested was because her son freaked and I pushed. She a mail carrier, and she's probably the inspiration for the, "Neither rain nor snow, nor dark of night shall stay these couriers from their appointed rounds" line! She's fuming at the whole mess, but her hubby almost did cartwheels. He's "quarantining" in a deer blind ... and he's positively ecstatic!

I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope your test comes back negative. I hope you all have already begun your quarantine. All of you should be wearing your masks around each other, and trying to keep a safe distance from each other if possible. Constant cleaning of surfaces and cracking a window or 2 open to allow for fresh air exchange. Can you shop on line and just have someone else pick them up? Or do any stores do delivery in your area? I wish you and your family all the best. My prayers are with you all.
Shopping won't be an issue. We're well stocked and close enough for family to drop things on the porch. I ALWAYS sleep with a window cracked open ... we have a fox that has gotten considerably bolder about coming into the back yard, so I let Crazy Dog out at the smallest hint of noise from the coop - which requires an open window so I can hear the first cackle or crow.
Cleaning all surfaces will be a challenge. Parts of my house (the most lived in parts, of course) currently look like an episode of Hoarders. I guess when you add a note in your prayers for help or motivation to get your mess together, you have to take the "boost" in whatever form it's offered. For years, I've added a footnote to every prayer for assistance ... "Please help me get hold of "X" problem ... and also grant me the strength, patience and understanding to accept that help in whatever form You choose to send it!"

Looks like things will be tightening up again here in NJ. The Princess and I were talking last night. Yes the machinations necessary to interact with family, and the masking and social distancing can be a pain, but one of the things we miss most is Sunday breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

Things are getting tightened up here as well. Massachusetts has had an increase in positive testing for the past two weeks. All the towns and communities around me are in the red zone for the virus. I'm trying to scramble and get the basement prepped so my daughter can move in. She has now pushed that to December 1st. My contractor is stopping by today and hopefully we can get some things done and prepped before she moves in. I've been fairly well stocked since February but have been doing some last "minute" replenishing recently with the increasing cases. I also ordered a new generator. This has been the first year since I've moved here that we have had power failures. Although they were short, it's still concerning and the house came with a transfer switch so that is helpful. I'm right there with you @sourland. I miss the simple things too. I miss going to the monthly concerts at the music center a few towns over. These were free for seniors. As far as other illnesses: the most I've had was a bit of sinus "distress" not even a sinus cold. Usually related to dry air or allergies. So the masks really are a good thing. Wishing you all the best, stay safe and stay healthy.

And the results are IN!

POSITIVE!
Yay.
Not.
I feel like crap ... but at least now I know why. DD is negative. DS is on his way home from work, but will wait until next week to test. He has to quarantine, regardless, so why waste the test when someone else may need it more.
Going to bed. I'll catch you all, later ...
