Wrong, these cotton handmade masks are able to be sterilized and doctors used them in the good old days. Hospitals want them.

I'm thinking if they set up an iron then could iron them between patients and have instant sterilization. I dunno. They may not have the time but it makes sense to me.

I'm tired of all the politics of this whole thing. I'd rather know if everyone is okay, if they have stuff at their stores, what's recently closed, and how they're passing the time...

I try to use it as knowing what everyone else is going thru or doing. People do want guidance. Positive. Face it. We are all stuck at home and boredom sets in and annoyance sets in, and people then need to let off a (tiny bit) of steam here. But within the guidelines of this forum.

Love the jokes!

It's impossible to completely depoliticize a problem as all encompassing as the corona virus. It effects everything from racism to homelessness to debt and disability access and a million other things. The existence of the virus has politicized even late-generation of asians in America just by virtue of them existing.

Like, is it political if you ask if I'm ok and I say "I am in the hospital and can't afford my hospital bills"? Or I answer "I'm OK but my brother in law was let get with no sick leave. My friend has a cough, we're hoping from her seasonal bronchitis, but no other symptoms so has to go into work because she won't be paid otherwise. She works in the food industry. I wish we had guaranteed paid sick leave for them"? (Both those latter things are true, btw.) It's a very political act to order businesses closed and when which is why my state governor is relying on publicly shaming non essential businesses until we reach a certain number of cases rather than ordering them all closed right now.

You can leave politician names out of it, but even then it's hard. Sen Mike Huckabee made a tweet about using corn cobs as toilet paper and is being criticized for not cracking down on scalpers in his state instead of making tweets about how people should use corn cobs instead.

If you're asking me if me and my loved ones are OK my answer is going to be political by the sheer nature of what politics encompasses. Otherwise I don't think you really want to hear an update.

I hate! any negativity to Senator Huckabee. IMO. He's the best of the best people and has never tried to be anything but the good person he is. If that's political so be it. I think he sponsors a trip to Jerusalem every year- for any religion. It's on my bucket list. I've even seen him play guitar with the Lynard Skynard. (sp) . But really I have to chuckle because there's a few Politicians out there that I would do anything for because they do everything for the people that elected them. I will not name anyone - and I call that "non political" . I won't say anything that upsets anyone else. Except for Huckabee. And they're on either "side". Okay had my rant, LOL. This is all IMO and remember my chicken family comes first.
Please don't hit me- I can edit this if someone wants me to.

Not a good thing to discuss here.

He can't crack down on scalpers, he is no longer Governor or even in politics. Its actually a old joke, still for sale I believe. People like to put them, corn cob toilet paper holders in hunting cabins etc.

So do I, dairy plant. I'm not sure if I should be happy I'm working, or ticked off that I'm the only one leaving the house, DW is laid off, kids school closed everyone staying home (definitely safe distancing) except me, we live in the boonies if we get sick/die it will be my fault...

I hope things get better for you, I know there are so many who have been financially devasted by this shut down. I hope maybe your family can grow some veggies or barter eggs. Sickness or death in your family can not be your fault if you are giving it your all. And you do. Maybe hatch some more eggs, grow some more girls and make more eggs. That will also keep your kids busy. (assign them eggs) .

Lock downs actaully delay herd immunity and DEEPEN economic slaughter.

Destroy the economy for the convenience of the health care industry is NOT okay

Well another way of looking at it is we need the healthcare industry the most. I think delaying the herd immunity just makes it so everyone doesn't get sick at the same time because we don't have enough equipment to keep everyone alive unless the ones that get sick -get sick at a slower rate that saves lives. It's hard to admit that things need to be the way it is. It's hard not to see this as a convenience to healthcare, but we don't have the facilities or people to take care of a lot of people at once. It's got to be people needing treatment are spread out in time so that everyone can be treated appropriately.

Sometimes the way to save the most people is to have a lockdown therefore not preventing economic slaughter but saving lives. I have stock for retirement. I could cry.

Thanks, it's just wrong for kids to have cancer.

OMG!!!! Did you open a can of worms. I could cry for them just thinking about it. My New Year's resolution was to have a monthy automatic payment to St. Jude. So I feel very good inside that I'm doing something for kids that don't deserve this. :hit
I also hear that St. Jude is one of the ones that has a large % of money going where it should be.
