Very much so. Cases aren't the best measure, either, even if there weren't other problems with the data.
If I knew of better data, I would use it. In the meantime, I think it can answer some questions - or at least support or not support some answers. Especially, if the same patterns emerge most of the time and people keep the salt handy, and check their assumptions often.

Not here, at least not AT school, the kids are bringing it to school. Now they have a testing thing where anyone who was a close contact has to get tested on the way into school every day for a period of time. They can go in the school if they are negative, sent back home for 7-10 days if positive.

Ours didn't. Couple of the kids we picked up packets from the school, one kid they didn't have one made up said could catch up when they come back.

NY state you get mandatory quarantined by public health for ten days. And that tenth day if you say you have no symptoms and no fever you get released. School doesn't require a negative test nor did our work.

We have five kids 22yrs down to nine. Had many yrs of knowing kids are disease ridden vermin. Like a nonstop cycle of coming home sick.
When the kids recently brought home covid DW talking to the school mentioned three of us vaccinated got it. School mentioned that's what they keep seeing every kid that gets quarantined the whole household gets it vaccinated or not.
