Is everybody just inherently lazy until they hit their 30's?
You mean I only have to wait 4 more years and DD2 will start "adulting"??

and numbers just keep on climbing with mask mandate debates/battles are on the rise again.
Same here. The governor is against restarting mask mandates even though we've gotten more cases in the last month than all the prior months (IIRC). So he is "letting" the legislature convene out of session today so they can pass something that will let cities and towns pass a mask mandate if they want to.

But, IMO, the places with the highest number of cases are the places where the population is generally anti-mask, anti-vacc. They won't be passing any mandates and the number of cases won't go down substantially.

You could just count to 20 though in mississippis
They don't have a Mississippi in South Africa so they count by hippopotamuses.

She and her DH do not have a TV and the only news they get is from him listening to the radio. I don't know what stations, however.
Apparently not one that has any facts.

Lol, I find that too. My phone variously puts me anywhere from Vancouver, CA to Texas! I find it amusing.
DD1's phone is Canadian since she is at university in New Brunswick. We are about 25 miles south of the border and when she is home her phone will often say "welcome to Canada". DANG, if only the Verizon signal was that good! It really sucks here.

And all the vaccinated are still getting sick.
ALL?

I believe ~1/3 of the cases here are breakthrough. Given the high number of vaccinated people that isn't surprising. The cases per 100,000 is 150% to 175% higher in the lesser vaccinated counties.

The places with the highest rates of covid per 10,000 in the past two weeks include
Putney, has <90% vaccinated
Springfield, has 71-80%
Townshend, has 81-90%
Stamford, has 42-50%
Readsboro, has 61-70%
Whitingham, has 71-80%
Bennington, has 81-90%
Searsburg, has 31-40%
Londonderry, <90%

Towns with the lowest rate of covid per 10,000 over the past two weeks include
Marlboro, 41-50%
Somerset, suppressed
Glastonbury, suppressed
Sunderland, 31-40%
Wardboro, 71-80%
Sandgate, 51-60%
Peru, <90%
Mt Tabor, 21-30%
Andover, 51-60%
Plymouth, 51-60%

I took the first ten I saw for each highest rate and lowest rate from State of VT dashboard map. I know nothing about the population distributions of VT across the state so maybe I better start in the north and go down also
In the highest covid rate catergory:
Canaan, 51-60%
Brighton, 81-90%
Morgan, 51-60%
Charleston, 61-70%
Darby, 61-70%

In the lowest rate of covid per 10,000 people category:
Avrill, suppressed
Lemmington, 31-40%
Lewis, suppressed
Holland, <10%
Westmore, 11-20%

Suppressed means less than 6 people in that town are vaccinated.

Halloween, large gatherings .... Two, three weeks later, big surges in numbers of cases.

Thanksgiving coming up ... Hmmm. Wonder what might happen after millions of people traveling, gathering, parading in huge crowds, football games? I don't have a crystal ball but I can guess.
Yeah. They make the decision for themselves, though. We're keeping it small again this year. Not even getting together with my fathers side of the family. There will be a total of 12 of us.
