As a mother who's child would die without an epi pen the out of pocket cost would kill us. Also my daughters adhd meds oop would be $278 a month if it weren't for insurance. Not including inhalers for both girls each month.
I am assuming you are aware of the generic version: epinephrine auto-injector.
few people do know about that. it's like Xerox for copy machine or Kleenex for facial tissue.

I am not I'm the step mom I just do as I'm told lol but I will keep that in my back pocket! It's so frustrating because big Pharma and the insurance companies have us my the giggle berries all around

I take no issue with the Dr or scientist making some bank. I take major issue with the entire medical industrial complex being about profit. See: Epi-pen, Pfizer.
How about the US taxpayer pays for the research, then they patent what they have discovered and sell back theUS taxpayer. Down right unethical.

Insurance is a large part of the problem.
I was put on Eliquis a year ago for blood clots in the lung. $165/month with insurance, $1600 without. When I was going to have to pay full price I messaged my Doctor to ask if I needed it or was there something else I could take. He said I only needed it for 3 months and I was over 6m. so I could just stop. :rant

Unless you keep them under the stoop, you are mom.
But you have to know to ask for the generic version or they will give you the dreadfully overpriced epipen.
I am sorry that society does not recognize your contribution as care giver and punishes you in that way.
