Lots of people don't want to take a life
And some don't want to deal with butchering
So they'll just starve waiting for the grocery store to get meat 🤦🏼‍♀️

I get that people don't want to take another life, but is not taking a life worth starving?

At this point I can truly see what type of people would be the ones to survive during a severe crisis... not saying that this virus isn't, but I mean if there was something like you can't leave at all because you'll die.

So many people do not know how to live off the land, and that is something that I am learning right now. I want to know how to survive off the land if anything ever happened because at this point that's basically what we're doing.

Once my garden and everything is growing it will be a lot better for me 😁

See where we live no one has been like that. On Friday he said stay at home too. I've been doing it all along because who really wants to catch this virus and test their fate?
I think that's probably why he called for it, a lot of places were not being careful. I was the one the teachers looked at funny when I yanked my kiddo out of school the day the first case turned up here. Then 2 days later school shut down for 2 weeks. (Now for the school year)
I'm more of a proactive type and can shoulder funny looks in general, but while I'm following the guidelines in order to do our part, it's been frustrating to watch all those around here not give a darn.
I'm not a Northam fan in general, but am glad he finally called the Stay at Home.

I'm not his biggest fan either. Honestly he has done many things I don't agree with.

I do agree that we should have a stay at home order because people are really too ignorant or just plain brain numb to get why you should stay home right now.

People don't get that they can pass this on even if they don't have symptoms, that's the part that's bugging me the most... All those people who don't care that they pass it on to other people, I just don't get it.

I actually have a doctor's appointment over the phone tomorrow with my pulmonologist. Weirdness... I don't think I've ever had a doctor's appointment over the phone. My pulmonologist has done a FaceTime call with my family when I was hospitalized, but that's about it.

I have never butchered or eaten any of my birds. I am too big of a softy and a baby.. but if it comes to that point where I need to, I will to feed my family.
I used to raise the meat birds for our family on my other farm (had to for kiddo's health concerns) and took them to the Mennonites to be done, humanely.
I bawled like a baby the first time I dropped birds off. Turkeys too...lots of tears.

But now it's looking like we are going to have to pull up our boot straps and learn how to do it ourselves. I'll probably cry again, but I have to feed my family.

That's why I have a broody raise mine. It's hard when I have handled them and they trust me. Easier for me when they are harder to catch. By the time I catch them I am ready to wack them

Zombie apocalypse!!! I’ve seen enough movies/shows about it and other apocalypse events to be prepared!! :lau

If the chick purchases are any indication, they're gonna!

It's not too hard. I learned from youtube videos actually!
I learned from YouTube videos too. It's pretty simple.

I'm wondering if a lot of people bought these chicks thinking that they would start laying eggs pretty soon 😂 because we may see a lot of complaint threads on here 🤦🏼‍♀️
I’ve watched some videos and the actual task does not seem that difficult and I think I could do it but it’s the killing them that’s the hard part. :( I get too attached lol
