3.5 million people have lost their health care since this pandemic started. Meanwhile there is a lawsuit playing out to take healthcare away from another 15 plus million people. The people with the most to lose, the poorest amongst us, the frail, old and sick are getting screwed by the very people they voted for.

Can you imagine what the total medical charges are going to be nationwide?! And how much of that is going to be from people who aren't insured? Or dead and their estates won't be able to pay?

It's gonna be a hot mess! And a lot of people who have heart attacks or broken arms or ulcers or pregnancies are going to end up finding a lot of those costs folded into the bills somehow.

New Jersey Today : 61,850 positive cases, 2,350 deaths, 314 positive cases in my county and 11 deaths. No plateau here.

The way I understand it, when they talk about plateaus they're saying that the number of presenting cases has stopped escalating. It doesn't mean they're treating fewer cases just that the rampant growth in the number of cases has slowed or stopped.

Hang in there and stay tough, sourland! We don't want anything happening to you and yours!

I've read that NJ has some similar restrictions - they've had big box stores remove/restrict access to "non essential goods" but my issue is how random the restrictions seem to be. I can understand you don't want people browsing clothing in a store, but clothes ARE essential. And in the article that was posted, a guy mentioned he was doing house repairs but now can't buy paint to finish the repairs - the paint is essential because otherwise the repaired wall is now left exposed. Just seems they chose to restrict things without fully thinking through the restrictions. I'll have to ask my friend in Detroit what restrictions she's seen, next time she's available to chit chat.

My friend who evacuated from France left with 2 pair of pants and I think she said 5 T-shirts. She and her husband went into quarantine for 2 weeks immediately following in a small rented apartment that she says has 1 sink to meet the needs of the bathroom and the tiny kitchen.

She just got released from quaratine yesterday. She says she can't WAIT to get a few things to wear when she burns the things she's so sick of!

Does your friend have any leftover paint around his house. Most of us do. I'd suggest he pain his construction whatever color he has -- even if it's interior latex -- and paint over it when he has full access to the paint he wants. At least he could keep the integrity fo the raw wood...

Maybe if we stack them, they would count as one, when eaten at the same time?

I like to think broken ones don't count at all......maybe that is why all my cookies are always broken. :gig

People would be shocked what a serving size is if they started looking at the label.

I know I was.

:lau exactly!!! I always used to eat a million Oreos or an entire pack of crackers, etc.

I think maybe just eating more real foods would help too but even then I eat way too much and give myself giant servings. :lau

Yes eat real unprocessed food. Yes try to use just the recommended serving sizes and see how you feel.

See!? Suggestion. ;) :lau

I don’t think relying on your hunger level is a good idea though.... 😂🙈

Yup it is a suggestion.....I have to read those labels because I am on an extremely restricted carb intake. Some things just are no longer worth it for me. I haven't had a single oreo in 18 months.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your friend. See, my mind would go to "I need more socks and underwear as I get out of here," which are basic and obvious things that almost everyone wears, but if they're deemed non essential what can you do? Ordering from Amazon isn't a magic answer for everything (nevermind that puts the burden on Amazon employees and delivery drivers instead).

Oh the painter was someone mentioned in the article, who was saying he was doing repairs for someone who had a tree land on their house. I just hope for that homeowner that they were able to come up with something to at least temporarily protect the house.

Yeah, I’m going to work on it for sure!! I think I just also need to work on portion control too :lau my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach 😂 sometimes I take tons of food and then I can’t even eat it all. 🙈

And oh wow I can understand why you read it then! I had Oreos like a few weeks ago and they were pretty good but not really worth it. I could go without. I didn’t even buy them but they were here 😂

I have not had to live without anything but be free to visit my daughter and family 9 miles down the road.
Fed Ex Has finally realized that my address leads them to a field in the middle of no where. I tell them all GPS is wrong on me.
Wine.com has delivered everything I ask.
Amazon has just about everything else I need delivered to my door. Even appliances like a front load washer and a new fridge, gas stove, also 2 jet flush toilets, jewelry (not so good idea), gifts with one click and goes to the recipient. Between Amazon and Wayfair, I may have about 4 pieces of furniture that have not come from them, also including all linens towels, rugs, carpets, all my makeup, I just ordered one little tube of Miconazole for my silkie roo who I believe has Favus. I could go on for a whole page, but I won't. It's shameful. But I think where else can I get the massive selection of anything at a decent price and delivered to my door? I've gone to Walmart twice in 2 years.

I'm generally a home body who can find plenty to do outside for the benefit of my animals. So life hasn't changed all that much for me/us. Just miss my daughter and family.

My mistake, 1.5 million so far, 7 million expected to lose healthcare.

Well I see our fearless leader will probably notice that problem. My daughter brought up a good idea as well. Instead of just handing out checks, maybe some if not all would be in the form of a voucher, so "some" people don't use the money for bad stuff. Not everyone thinks to get that money and pay the rent, electric, heat, food etc.
