Hopefully the coronavirus won't be weaponized through gene editing, which could cause it to code for proteins which are independently infectious.
Can you explain what you mean by 'be weaponized'?

I think he means this:Can you explain what you mean by 'be weaponized'?
Ahh, yes. Lets look at those numbers than. So that .002% for H1N1...the lowest estimate for deaths hovered around 150,000 from a low estimate of 700 million infected in only 1.5 years. High estimates are 575,000 from 1.4 billion infections. So, those are rather huge numbers, especially as the population has grown ever larger since 2009-2010. Right now, Covid as of today sits at 240k ish cases and 9.9k deaths with over 80k recovered. With H1N1, it spread globally yet travel never shut down to this level, and folks did not stockpile as if we were in the End of Days. Doesn't that just seem...odd?
In California right?Fun fact: H1N1 originated in the USA. Do you think people in China called it the Ameriflu? Lol.
Objectively, one reason could be that confidence in government leadership was a lot stronger around the H1N1 time. Didn't we also have a pandemic response team then? I know it was just dismantled last year (whoopsie) but I don't know when it was started.
Good to see you around again @seminolewind !Gosh haven’t seen you on here in a coons age! Where you been hiding? @seminolewind
I hope not....The suicide rate would go up for sure!
Flour was gone here also, surprised people still know what to do with it lol. The tp infatuation is just ridiculous....I've been having a hard time finding flour, did find some Bob's red mill (kinda expensive). Paper products, canned goods and sanitizing products are in very limited supply here. Toilet paper cannot be found anywhere at the moment. I'm finding this all surreal![]()
Yup I did, I have five kids 21 to seven, youngest only boy, so that one really worries me, I don't want any grandkids affected by it.You forgot the Zika virusBut I don’t know them all since I barely became an adult that cared about what was going on in the world two or three years ago.
My DD said if anyone visits her they have to bring their own TP
Think them and Washington have the most cases. I might be wrong because I can't even look at the news because my phone is being slow. Too many people on the Verizon network.Speaking of, CA just went on lockdown/shelter in place/stay at home.
Wait a minute ... STAY sane? That implies that we have to start out at that point. That puts me at a distinct disadvantage. I call HACKS!What are we all doing to stay sane while stuck at home?
My county has 189 cases and 6 deaths. Two of those 6 deaths are in my city,Think them and Washington have the most cases. I might be wrong because I can't even look at the news because my phone is being slow. Too many people on the Verizon network.
In California right?
