Though mine would totally trip me while we're fleeing the zombie apocalypse, just so the zombies would eat me first (ah, but then who would fill the dog bowls with kibble?)
Yeah The Star is some sort of shepherd, lab, hound, malamute mix. She's got a thick double coat, heterochromia, built like a lab, colored like a shepherd, bays like a hound. She's smart and steady with a mind of her own. She's 12 and she has bad hips half the time and wrestles like a puppy the other half. She's SUPER gentle with puppies and small animals and VERY particular about adult dogs and people. I've had her for her whole life - we've been through a lot together.

(That's a lop bunny under her. They were good buds back when I lived in an apartment.)
The Killer is an 8yr old AKC husky. She's got the happiest shiniest eyes. She also used to have a running kill count. I stopped counting. She's killed cats, rats, groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, wild birds.... She tried to fight a hawk through a fence once. Its talons got stuck in her mouth and as soon as she got free of it she went back to trying to attack it. She doesn't like to play with toys but likes learning/following commands, barking at other dogs playing, and polite cuddles.

(Happy to murder)
The Boy is new. He's an aussie/bc mix. He's a coward but smart as a whip and catches on to new tasks instantly. He worries a lot and his focus is bad. He thinks the chickens belong in the coop and not the pen. Strangers are scary but he finally trusts trash cans. Keys on a keyring are unacceptable. He likes to chase the bunnies through the cage wire, and to then climb into the cages with them and groom them. His favorite thing in the world is fetch, his second favorite is climbing into your lap and putting his paws on your shoulders like a hug for attention. He's the only dog I've ever had that wants to chase cars. He's got a long way to go. He's also the first boy dog in the local family in my whole lifetime.

Each one of them has a role to play here, though The Star is mostly retired and does whatever she wants at this point. We used to do a LOT with her, agility, scent tracking, obedience, trick training, rat hunting, you name it. Now she sleeps a lot. The Killer keeps critters out of the lawn and chicken pen. She will fight things that threaten our plants and flock no matter how big. We're working on The Boy with herding. He doesn't have the focus for it yet but it's been getting better.
(Not to mention they're great to quarantine with and for my mental health.)
And I see you have a Shepherd to fill the apocalypse quota.![]()

They sound amazing.wonder if she maybe has Husky or Aussie cause of the blue eye?
BCs are prone to anxiety, right? Seems like I’ve heard of quite a few anxious ones. But they are nice dogs.Aussies too!! That seems like a good mix. Maybe he will outgrow it.
And I’m jealous you’ve done so much with them.
I LOVE training and have always wanted to do agility or nose work haha
Of course done tricks and obedience with every dog I’ve interacted with.
