NO NO NO, let them load it. That is NOT safe. One sneeze and it could be over. Also I would NOT be eating anything that I do not wash and cook myself.

From what I've read (source: yahoo, so take it as you will) there's no known cases of food transmitting the virus.

Even if I buy something at the grocery store to bring home and cook myself, I've read on average that 10 hands touched it before I picked it up and bought it, whether it's a farm worker or grocery stocker or another shopper.

Really the only way to guarantee that no one has handled your food at all is to be 100% self sufficient from start to finish, and that's not realistic for most people in a modern society.

Someone on my neighborhood forum wanted a referral for a manicurist recently. Nails? REALLY?

Yeah, for sure. :( wish they’d either actually enforce it or just take away the suggestion because it’s kind of stupid to be like “stay at home but not really. Maybe. If you can.” 😂🤦‍♀️

Several states with shelter in place orders admit they can't really enforce it. They can't really spare law enforcement and county offices are closed/limited for enforcing. So I'd say in many states it's more of a "we very strongly suggest that everyone willingly follows the guidelines."

In other countries (like parts of Asia) they will fine you, arrest you, publicly shame you, etc.

The first case identified in CA was diagnosed on 1/26. Since 1/26 -- 8 weeks -- only 21 people out of 5718 have "recovered"?

This seems incredible. What am I not seeing or what am I doing wrong?

I think lack of tests in US is making it hard/impossible to re-test people to confirm that they no longer are positive for the virus. I know I read that was the case for some of the folks in NY, that they simply didn't have tests so people were told to continue quarantine past 2 weeks.

It often takes a long time to recover. 3 weeks is no exception.

Our health organisation came with a new fact. The number of days a corona patient who needs ICU, stays in ICU for many days.

Originally they estimated it would be 10 days on average. But now they know its much longer. Average 23 days.
This has huge impact on hospital care. Next 2 weeks there are not enough ICU beds, specialised medics, oxygen machines and medicines needed for anaesthesia and pain killing.

Thanks! That's a lot of information I haven't heard before.

No wonder they need so many ventilators.

Well my mother in law did a fantastic job of scaring us. While we were eating lunch hubby gets a message on his phone: "Hi I'm at urgent care and I need you to do something for me."

He calls her back, freaking out quietly (we're obviously both expecting to hear something about respiratory issue or fever): "Mom what's going on? What do you need?"

MIL: "Oh... turns out I have a bladder infection. Can you go to my house and let the dog out?"

*facepalm*

She called us again later to find out if we let the dog out yet or not. 😅

I've been there.

Once someone called to confirm my husband's medical appointment. I didn't recognize the name so I asked what the appointment was for. They responded "we're his oncologist."

I almost had a heart attack on the spot. He's the kind of guy who wouldn't want to worry me. But it turned out that besides chemotherapy they also do iron infusions. My husband was scheduled for the iron infusion.

That makes sense! Thanks!

Glad you found most of the stuff!! That stinks they messed it up though. :( but at least you found it!! That’s most important.

And oh wow! These guys don’t sound like the smartest criminals. 🤦‍♀️

Then again.... I’m sure most criminals aren’t. :lau

But to just keep all the stolen stuff and leave it all out in the open and everything. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

That’s good news for you though!!!

It was found out in the boonies......
I just used several of my precious wipes to clean the inside of the truck.

OMG!!! :th I bet you were both freaking out and thinking she wanted you to get her will or something!! If someone said “I need you to do something for me...” I would be freaking out!!! Especially if prefaced by “I’m at urgent care/a hospital/ER/ICU, etc.! That’s such a weird way to phrase it to begin with, especially when prefaced by that!! I would be freaking out thinking the worst!! Not nice! :rant:smack:eek::th🤦‍♀️

Thanks!! That makes sense!! I bet it is definitely hard to enforce. I’ve just been staying time. I think I went out like once this past week to get feed but that’s it.

:sick :sick
Can you park that recovered truck it in a hot spot for a few days for any potential viruses to expire before you do anything with it?
Agreed!!
