Yeah, probably kind of a stupid question haha sorry.Yes, of course they do. And that's what takes the longest part of the procedure.
Sometimes afterward he'll have tremendous pain but mostly not. It's just that he's past the point where they help his vision. Now they're just hoping to decrease the deterioration.
That's whatever it is. The point is so many of the eventual side effects come decades after the damage has been done. So take care of yourself NOW so you can prevent them!

That stinks they don’t work anymore though.

And that’s a good point!! I never thought of that... that they could come way later.

I don’t even really fully know how though either.... I mean, obviously I need to completely cut out all the crap like the sugar and desserts and stuff cause I eat waaaaaaayyyyyy too much of that stuff but is bread still allowed? Potatoes? I don’t know. Maybe I should just start with cutting out the sugar? Cause I feel like that is probably worse than anything else but maybe not. But that one will be tough because practically everything I eat is some form of sugar. Or like I eat it with every meal practically.

Does this mean I can’t have my tea either?
I think what I really need to do is start cooking because then that way I could be sure it was healthy or whatever but that’s so boring. Better than dying though.
