There was something about full spectrum bulbs......I have had those for a few years now so don't remember exactly. The fixtures are standard fixtures. Getting 3' is challenging....4' is more common.
Thanks! I should make or buy some for next year so I don’t have to always take over the tables everywhere or be near a window. :lau

I also buy this cheap like $3 potting soil at this store down the street because for some reason it works amazing for me :lau
Not all potting soil is good. A lot is pretty crappy. Want to find good deals, you live in Massachusetts? Prob can find same deals I do, doubt those in southern states see it.
Home Depot and Lowes early spring, still winter cut their prices big time on what is leftover from last yr. Big bags of organic potting soil $1 a bag. Stopped at one of them before this crap and picked up one bag froze solid. Then went back and filled up a cart load. Only used about half a bag starting seeds so far 😆

Yeah, that’s true and I really honestly thought this stuff would be crappy because it was so cheap but the plants seem to love it!! I got it at Ocean State. I didn’t know the big box stores marked down the good stuff though!! Will have to go there and check sometime!! The deals are probably gone now though. :/

I also sometimes mix organic fertilizer or compost or whatever into the potting soil too which I think helps make the crappy stuff a bit better. :)

But even just plain my peppers did well for some reason. It’s pretty decent stuff I think.

I have also bought good stuff before too and use the Jiffy starting mix for the seeds. I think I have some of the organic potting or raised bed soil on the garden outside.

Now I'm gonna need seed starter soil, "not to be confused with chick starter feed" And much more patience than I believe I possess. :D :yesss:
I like the Jiffy kind and my plants seem to thrive in it but most any will do. :)

Also, a heat mat will help them germinate faster too. Especially heat loving plants like peppers. They sell special plant ones but I think any one will work. I’m sure even a regular old heating pad would work haha

Not necessary though, I used to do it without a heat mat, but it may take a bit longer.

But honestly they sprout pretty fast. :) like a week or two and it is sooo amazing when they first pop out of the ground and you see the little sprouts and tiny little leaflets :love

It’s addictive like hatching lol be warned!
