There’s nothing wrong with older meat from the freezer, as long as it has been frozen the whole time you won’t get sick or anything, it just has a little freeze drying though fat can taste a bit off. If it’s properly packaged it can last a very long time. I have caribou from 2012 that’s still as good as the day I packaged it in butcher paper AND vacuum packs. But sadly, there are only two final pieces and no hope for more :hit
Yeah, I used to raise heritage turkeys and a couple of times I found that the fatty parts would start to get a little funk to them (technical term...) after about 18 months in the chest freezer so I learned to not freeze them whole, but rather in parts.

Oddly enough in my searching, some people swore that if you coated the freezer burned part with cool whip while thawing it was fine. My guess is it was the oil/fat they were after and maybe mayo would also work, however I think I'll skip that whole idea.

No hope for more caribou? Is it forbidden to hunt them, or is this something you brought from another location? What about online ordering?
(sorry, never had it, so I'm totally caribou ignorant)

First off featherhead007 's avatar is a Polish roo. My favorite breed along with Jerseys.
Here's a pic of Princessfluffybritches who is almost 12 years old. My first Polish . I can't tell you how many times I've gone out to the pen and found her hanging upside down and her feet caught in the wire. I always thought "Oh God she's dead"! Silly bird.

I thought so but wasn’t sure lol

And OMG she’s amazing!! I love her!!!

Not too bad where I am (pnw). Most are abiding by the 6ft rule but as nice weather is finally hitting, many are out. Most folks are out doing their yards, as I am too. Major stores like Costco and Winco occasionally have lines but they’re nowhere near as bad as when this first happened. My neighbor was out power walking and told me he’s an avid hiker and was having withdrawals due to being inside so much!

Although this is a stressful time, it really is nice to stay at home and catch up on personal endeavors.

What really irks me is that at least half or more is just straight out fat. I cut most of it out but it leaves very little bacon.
You sound like my oldest DD, she would do the same thing when she was little say she doesn't like the fat (bacon is fat :he) Prob still does.
Thinking I always loved Sizzlean when I was a kid, kinda like turkey bacon but made with pork. Can't get that anymore so bought some turkey bacon, she loved the stuff. None of the rest of us did much though lol.
Canadian bacon? That's ham ;)
