Maybe if they had everyones dna they could use it for proof of paternity for birth records.
Lots of guys not claiming their kids and lots of guys unknowingly raises kids that aren't theirs.

My meat birds live the life. I'm actually keeping two females from my meat chickens so I can breed them in with my flock.

What breed are they? Most people around here use CX, and they don't usually live long enough to become layers, let alone broody. I'd be curious to see how that turned out.

That's cool, it's your choice. If it becomes not a choice, and a requirement as part of a national testing and untested vaccination program, it's going to get interesting.

I think my point was really more towards there are a lot of clueless sheep flocking to test site giving away their DNA without knowing or understanding the implications or even that they are giving their DNA away without being told what will become of those swabs.

In my childhood we had a rotary dial phone and was on a party line so that gives away my age somewhat.
I don't get the correlation between technical advances and my DNA. If the government wants to use my DNA in the same route phones went then more power to them. They can make a new generation of people that are smaller, faster and smarter. I don't see any harm in that.

The comparison is to demonstrate how things which were once unfathomable are now reality. We should not discount what we do not know or understand.

As for businesses like insurance companies wanting to use it to increase my rates. Whats it matter if they want more money they can just do like they always have and just raise my rates without any cause or explanation. That practice isn't new to them or most other businesses.
IDK seems like being paranoid over nothing to me.

I think privacy should be valued.

They're Cornish Rocks. Once I know male from female, I'll add two to my layer flock so that they don't eat like pigs. My layer flock gets fed twice a day and the rest is free range in the yard/woods.

Hubs boss and his wife are mid 70's. They both say the virus is a scam.
They won't go grocery shopping because others being in masks is unpleasant for them.
She is desperate to get her hair done. This morning before 7am his boss called asking if hubs has a mask she can use so she can get her hair done.

Yup! We sure do! I gave hubs my N95's I bought a couple years ago for coop cleaning.

PLEASE make sure to give us a follow-up. I'm curious to know if she found a hairdresser desperate enough to actually get close to someone who, until today, has pointedly avoided protecting herself! And she'd better be prepared to tip REALLY big! Could be interesting!

And then there are the people who willingly get their DNA tested to "see where they came from." Building the database. And the people who are looking for birth families (which is pretty cool.) Building the database.

So true. There are some really cool things out of those sites. I was actually surprised when it came out they were selling the DNA to the police/FBI/highest bidders. I don't think many people thought of this consequence or side effect. But here we are.

When these companies close down and banks liquidate, they don't give a rats rear end about the "agreements". They sell everything, including data and information.

Maybe this DNA catalog will lead us back to the caste system, everyone liked that, right?

Like someone else mentioned if the government wants your DNA they already have it or could easily get it.
Anyone here that has never been to a doctor's, dentist or hospital?
I don't think the government is using covid testing to acquire people's DNA. There's plenty of ways to get it if they wanted it.

Wait...virus is a scam, but they want a mask? LoL. Can't handle not getting a haricut? really? I would have told them wrap their shirt around their mouth and wouldn't have wasted a mask on them.
