Funny, that. I know a fellow who was different from all of his siblings, short, swarthy & stocky to their tall, slender blonde. His father treated him horribly. His Mom doted on him. After both passed, and aunt clued him in on an old story ... and he he acted on his hunch. And that's how I met my eldest cousin! True Story!!!
I've always wondered about my family like that because I could not be more different from them....physically, mentally, and personality wise.... (thankfully)
No telling what kind of skeletons I might uncover if I decide to do an ancestry test.

It was a long time ago and things like that just didn't happen in "nice" families. And yes, it was hard for him. He was always so apologetic and worried that he'd stepped on someone's toes or feelings. And yes, his siblings were decent with him. The eldest actually remembered the whole situation & kept it from him, at her mother's request. That had to be really hard one her, too, keeping a secret like that from her little brother. He was such a sweet guy. I wish I'd had more time with him, but he lived far away (luckily, visiting frequently.) He passed way too early, just a few years ago with the curse of my father's family ... a bad heart. I miss him!
An interesting aside - I don't have to worry about getting my DNA tested or not. My father did, to give Freddie a family baseline, so we're already in the proverbial system!
Oh wow I bet that really was hard on everybody!! That’s so sad. :( how did the rest of the family take it when they found out? Sorry for all the questions 😂🙈 this is all just so interesting yet sad to me. :( I don’t get how someone could keep a secret like that for so long. It was a long time before he found out right? So strange to me.

He was almost 60 when he found out the truth. The older generation of his mother's family knew, but they protected the sister til the day she died. Most of his siblings (seven, including him) were shocked, but once they all had a chance to process, it sure explained a lot and they came around.
The only one in my family who had real trouble with it is the aunt who was closest to his father - and she eventually came around. His sister, here had a bit of an adjustment, as well. She'd spent her whole life as an "only" and both her parents were gone. Although they were never really close. she and Fred had a good relationship - sharing family pictures and stories. The rest of us? We didn't bat an eyelash! We knew the story of my uncle's pre-marital (for him, anyway!) philandering, but didn't know that there was a child. Apparently, neither did my uncle! Once we met him, there was absolutely no doubt where Freddie belonged ... even without the testing, it was so obvious that ANYone could see or feel it ... which probably explains a lot of his "father's" animosity to him, growing up. I am so glad he found us!

ERMAGERD! You guys the march hare is running late!

I was out watering my dirt (hoping for sprouts) and 4 bunnies were running mad laps around the yard!

I guess that means I should watch for bun bun burrows.
It also means that you should watch out for your sprouts! :):bun

Put the deck all the way down, and mow.

No, it wasn’t on purpose.

Oh wow that is so sad and complicated. :( I’m glad everyone came around though and very glad he found you guys!! Wish he could have found you sooner though. :( and wait so she never even told his father? I bet he would have wanted to be involved. :( I’m glad it all worked out though and he at least got to belong for a few years?? Before he passed.

Neighbor had Siberian Huskies(2) they had the most incredible voices. Honestly, they tried their best to echo their owner. I've seen videos of Huskies and the sounds they make ''talking'' are totally understandable.. If any one of the breed evolves enough to speak English, they would probably be elected to office - maybe even POTUS. Heck I would vote for it myself.
