We are selling some coturnix quail and getting some ice cream afterwards. People seem to want the coturnix quail more than the chickens right now and I bet its because they are fast growers. Meat and eggs faster.
That’s a big part of what’s so appealing to me!!! Haha I can’t believe they grow up so fast.

Yah, you are right! Ducks wait for no one! Build that coop! :hugs

Making progress.

After this was taken we framed the rest of the windows.
Siding is getting cut and painted before install as you can see there are 4x4's REALLY close.

D'ya think she had to swipe Mama Heating Pad from the brooder? Even if it's not currently in use ....EEEEEWWWW!

I would NEVER! Tinies need their warmth far more than me.....but mine are all big now.

They should print side effects lists, on cereal boxes too! :th
They DO! It's printed on that paper that's mega-wad-folded and taped shut INSIDE the box. If you can get the tape off the see-through-thin paper without it disintegrating, AND get it unfolded from the origami building block shape it's in without tearing the 97 folds AND read the print that's so tiny even a magnifying glass needs a magnifying glass ... then and ONLY then can you read through the list of "potential" side effects. ... and even THAT is contingent on your ability to decipher which of the misaligned sections is written in medical-grade pseudo-English!
Whew ... I need to take a breath, now ... or go wash my hands again ... or both.
Nah ... I think I just need another brownie! :D

Once they are teens, you want to somehow see if the remote mute button will work on them.

Yesterday my two boys were fighting over a sprinkled donut. The youngest claimed it but the oldest wasn’t with us when he did. Of course the oldest grabbed that exact donut 🍩 The youngest decided he was going to fight it from his brothers hand... Oh the joys of boys. I’d rather their bickering and fighting than a teen girls moodiness. After that was done and over with the youngest grabbed his flaming hot Cheetos and decided those were better.

They definitely bicker a lot more with no school. They are saying they are doing school online in the fall too where we are. I hope my kids don’t fall behind because what is being required now is the bare minimum.
E-mail the teachers and ask how your boys are doing. I work in the public school system, so a lot of my friends are teachers and admins. Even if all is well, the teachers will appreciate the effort. If nothing else, a kind word and the offer of support is generally well - received.

On the Home Front, right about now, many of the kids are really slipping with their "Remote Learning" work. It's been going on for so long, now and deadlines have been stretched so far, that they think it's not important to anyone anymore. You'll be amazed at the instant motivation they find when they realize that Mom (or Dad, or Grandma) has "Mr./Ms. Jones'" e-mail ... and ... GASP ... is actually IN CONTACT with their teachers! ;)

Working for the government, or GM, were always better from an insurance standpoint.

This has nothing to do with insurance, but ... Hey, we're practically COUSINS!

I'm a GM Brat myself! My parents met while Dad was attending GMI (Kettering) in MI. He worked for the Baltimore plant for decades - from the time when it was still known as Fisher Body. On a regular basis, part of his job - and a real exec perk - was to bring home random vehicles from the assembly line and test drive them and evaluate them. The perks for us were that it was during the time of the old muscle cars. We had Chevelles, Monte Carlos, the first Corvette Stingray made at that plant (metallic silver - and sleeeeeeek!) and the second GTO Judge ever produced, anywhere. Vin #01 was the California prototype. Vin #02 was the East Coast one ... and 02 was in our driveway. Ya wanna talk about COOL?!

I'll never forget the first time Dad let Mom drive the 'Vette." We stopped at the local grocery store to get just a few basics ... and ended up doing the full weekly shop ... apparently forgetting that she only had the tiny trunk and behind the seats to carry it home. Embarrassed, she called my Dad so he could come rescue us. Now, a little back story ... growing up, the only cursing I ever heard was in Italian, no one spoke that way at home. Mom had no sooner asked, "Can you come get us?" when, before she could explain why, Dad bellowed, "$^%$#%$! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY CAR?" He was so loud that Mom held the phone away from her ear, so the whole store heard ... and I was in shock. I finally knew what all that muttered Italian meant!

The work that is being sent is maybe 15 minutes for a whole week. I am not too happy about it. I am honestly thinking about asking my friend that works for the high school to create teaching lessons for my kids because I know she will in a heartbeat.
