So, total change of subject here, but back to original topic, Covid-19.... since some of the country seems to think it's time to go back to "life as it was before" and "there never was really a virus" or whatever ... DH and I are still taking all precautions and will continue to do so, going out only when absolutely necessary, wearing masks, etc., not even going to church. So we have had a couple of folks/friends assure us they understand completely why we are doing all this and totally agree and support us in it ... and then ask if they can come visit! And then get their feelings hurt when we say, uh, no.... is anyone else getting these mixed signals? And how are you dealing with it?
Absolutely! Yesterday was the first day we've "entertained," and that was simply DD having a friend over to help weed. We stayed outside, even for dinner. It was actually pretty nice. My Best Friend isn't so easy. She insists on coming over and coming in. The only reasons I don't fight it are - #1, I know she's anally careful. And #2, if we didn't have each other to lean on, we'd both go "postal!" Her son wants to come over & hang out with mine, but I don't allow it. His idea of "hanging out" is sitting at the computer and eating everything that's not nailed down. I love the boy dearly, but I'm not ready to follow him around with a spray bottle of disinfectant!
The rest of my immediate family is either high risk, or has at least one close contact who is, so they all understand. In, fact, my sister is SO cautious that I may not see her until 2030 ...

Mine was like that, too. That's one reason why the animals all still live here ... but he doesn't!
Mine isn’t like that. He was the one who suggested to get rid of the ducks but I told him I’m trading for two rabbits. He didn’t do it meanly it’s because they were messing everything up.

He’s letting me keep the turkeys he actually suggested it.

I read about that Cap. I'm sure there will be more hot heads. Folks out here mostly seem to be wearing them. Some stores insist upon it. Our neighbors however don't wear them and don't practice social distancing. They are up in your face :tongue.

Men seem to prefer black masks - too hot for this weather. Women have more attractive ones but, - none of them are comfortable to wear. Every now and then, I have to let my nose get some air.
If I'm in a store for more than about ten minutes, the mask makes me claustrophobic. I have to find a quiet (uninhabited) aisle and open up for a minute or so, just to stave off a full-blown panic attack. DD knows "The Look," when I send it her way. She takes the cart while I beeline for the nearest door. This mess has set my anxiety therapy back months! :rolleyes:

We used to get the kongs and put peanut butter in them then freeze them. We would buy expensive PB because I do not like the ones with additives even for my pets.

I am in a spot on that.....she is still small so toys need to be smaller for her still.
Peanut butter will make EVERYONE want THAT toy. River has a mouth big enough she could carry a watermelon.

Other countries have to wear them all the time... People should be grateful that this is only for a short period of time. It is ridiculous what we consider our rights. Putting on a mask to stop spreading disease is not taking away your rights. People are always looking for something to complain about.
I think masks are here for a loooong time. even when the Powers-that-be tell us we can stop, a lot of people will continue. I'll probably be one of them. I've already raided my stash for Memorial Day/Fourth of July fabric. While I was going through the Holiday box, I noticed some Thanksgiving and Christmas prints, too. I guess I'll be pulling those, next ... {{ ... sigh ... }}
