Forgot to talk about my Covid story...

Yesterday my husband came home from work very irritated so I asked him what was wrong... he told me that one of the drivers from the same company he works for but a different branch came in and was touching everybody at their work and saying “What are you scared of cooties?”

My husband said that the look on his face must have made that guy not touch him because he was messing with everyone else besides the office people who would probably get him fired instantly... My husband said he would’ve flipped a lid!

I get that some people do not take this seriously, but to risk the health of an entire company because you are that immature, is not OK. My husband talked to the higher up boss and things are being handled.

Some customers are like that too. I don’t get people!!! I don’t find people’s health a joke!

I think it is because no one alive today has experienced such a virulent disease and if they aren't sick nor know anyone who has been sick it hasn't sunk in yet. I see people like that all the time here.
Missouri is encountering our first big spike in cases. Not as bad as Arizona or Texas but still a spike.

Not sure an assault charge would fly since you’re not hurt in the process of them touching you.

Think the police have better things to do like keeping drug dealers and true criminals off the streets.

It could be assault, it will just take 3 weeks to become aware of the injury.

It might be different now with this pandemic though. If they really wanted to be hardasses they could probably say he was intentionally spreading a contagion or whatever and charge him with that. They probably wouldn’t though because you’re right, it’d be a bit of a waste of time especially if it was already being handled, but they probably could. Several people have been charged just for spitting or coughing on produce when that never even would have been a thing before.

You can definitely do prison time and even potentially get a manslaughter charge for knowingly spreading AIDS.

I believe that without modern healthcare systems, the media and the internet, we could very well be in a state similar to the Plague of Justinian in 540 AD, which killed 1/4 of the earth's population.
The Bubonic Plague was the other bad one. That also killed 1/4 of the earth's population. It took 200 years for the population of Europe to recover.
Smallpox was rough and it killed 90% of native americans.

I know exactly why she was horrified.
My kiddo has the same hair as my mom, thin and straight. No one knows where my hair came from because no one in my family has anything like it. Jokes about the milk man were very common in family gatherings when talking about me.

I had a similar issue. My sister and I were the only blonde cousins in a HUGE family of Sicilians. Even with our fair-haired Mom, there were always jokes ... and still are!

That "short" ponytail hangs to his waist when wet ... and he's a six-footer!

I have an entire folder on my desktop devoted completely to long hair styles for men. DS and I will go through it, later this evening. Once he walks away, I'll put in my order for one of the models. DD is horrified that I'll actually do it! Too funny!

Been shaving my head ever since. Sure is easy on the maintenance.

But I bet it's really hard on the sunscreen budget!
Nah - my BIL has been intentionally bald for years - and he's still a young man. Some heads are just meant to shown off!

Yup - it's assault. The woman who spit on produce for the same reason was arrested, too. Just like the fool. years ago when I was a kid and the AIDS epidemic was growing. He was mad that a one-night-stand infected him, so he was spreading it around for other people to share his misery. Because it was intentional, he was (if I remember correctly) charged with assault with a deadly weapon. I have no idea what eventually happened, other than that he got jail time for something unrelated, but it was SO sad, all the way around!

Yeah that’s why I hang out with my animals more than people Sometimes I find great people on here. Other times some people just are so nasty that you know you should hit ignore Makes me wonder if they act that way in public too. I’ve calmed down a lot as I get older, I used to be someone who never cared what I said to people as long as it was the truth.
