Those are very similar to the ones I make. She must be mass producing them at that price. Anything under $10 barely covers materials and 20-30 minutes to make them. Though I use higher quality quilting cottons so my materials probably cost more than hers.

I was just thinking yesterday that you are going to get a lot of water up there!! We might have some localized flooding from the outer bands, maybe some winds, but otherwise should fare ok. I really hope the storm fizzles out before it hits your area!
Old houses. Yup, gotta love them.
No french drains in the last house, but on a nice hill. Somehow still managed to get a flooded basement every so often and days of scooping, sponging up, squeegying, and running fans for a week. *sigh*
I do not miss having a wet spider filled dungeon, I mean basement. I miss the extra space, but not everything else that came with it.
It’s the only ones I found that I like. I like the adjustable straps. I think it’s more the patterns than anything. I got the black with daisies and purple.

It’s so hard to find someone to make masks. I have worn them for so long, but this is the first time I’ve bought ones like this. I usually just wear my surgical masks from my sterile dressing change kits:

They have a ton of ISA Brown pullets which I’ve always wanted!! Plus SLW and Cuckoo Marans straight run!
Our TSC stopped selling chicks in May. And they don't do fall chicks because it's one of the smaller stores. Another reason I'm thrilled about a new RK.
Alright, crew, it's time to go sweep out some french drains. I'll check back in tomorrow ... if we have power and I'm not bailing my basement ...
You ok up there? Send us a sign. Morse code maybe?
Thinking about you!:hugs

When I started making mine there was no elastic to be had anywhere so I make fabric ties, which I personally prefer because they fit more head shapes and sizes. No need to make the button ear savers either and so far they fit well with my glasses without fogging.
I use little craft pipe cleaners inside for over the nose. They get a little wrinkled after going through the W/D but easy to fix with a warm iron. Been meaning to try making some of the more boxed shaped ones but am a little masked out right now.

Did you get any winds or rain bands over your way?

Holy Cow are we WET?!!?!!

So far, so good.

DS put in a splitter, last night, so the sump pump can run without taking down the full freezer. So far, so good. Pump's been running, but not constantly. That's a good sign ... but likely won't stay that way much longer ... the stuff's really coming down. We have two very bedraggled roosters who have not figured out that quarantine is over and they can rejoin their buddies in the bachelor run, but other than that we're dry enough and in pretty good shape at the moment.

Apparently that's not the case elsewhere in town. We're getting a refugee, later today. DD's buddy lives one street over from the river and can't get home from work. When her Mom took her in, this morning, her car floated on the way back home. She barely made it back. She's okay in the driveway, but can't move beyond it, now. The poor kid will walk to our house when she gets off. I'd go get her, but they just shut down the bridge over "my" creek. It runs directly behind my place, so I can't leave without crossing it. The weirdest part is that, unless you look out back from my highest window to view the rising creek, everything looks like a normal, heavy rainstorm. One of the deceptive benefits of living on the high point of town, I guess.

So. for now at least, so far, so good. The sky is totally clouded, but daylight-bright, but it's raining like a mother-bear. The winds are shifting like wild then going dead for minutes at a time before starting all over again., but most of our :stuff" is secured. The tornado watch is lifted ... for now, but the tropical storm warning stands "until further notice." Sirens are going off like crazy - every twenty minutes or so and there have been three flooded vehicle rescues in the last two hours - one with a "boat grab" to take people out and another, currently in progress, has just requested a "swift water rescue team." It's in the middle of a major highway. This is CRAZY ... and people iz STOOPID!

I was just about to add that we still have power ... but that just flickered.
And so it begins ...

Yes. It was horrible here all night I guess, but I was out cold. I took Benadryl for a tape rash I got.

How COVID19 Affected My Day Today;

My old 4Wheeler is in pretty bad need of a new set of 4 Tires so I call up my local ATV/Cycle Dealer and no answer and no way to leave a message. Try them a couple of times this am and nothing. Finally, get an answer and its the owner.

Ask him if he could mount a set of tires on my 4 Wheeler this week and he starts telling me that he can't get tires in, the manufacturer that he deals with is backlogged and even if he could he doesn't have any mechanics on staff. They all left to get government COVID money and he's been doing all the work himself. His tire machine is also down and doesn't know when he can get it fixed. He said, "I'll be honest with you, I don't know if I will be able to stay in business after all this. If you wanted a deal on a new 4 Wheeler I'll cut you a helluva price to get some of these moved out. "

They have provided me good service over the past 10 years or so but it sounds like they are hurting. Damn shame.

Yeah ours usually would have stopped by now too but I guess now this year 😂🤣

@MROO - 4 " of rain /hour here. Sump pump in the new section of the cellar became overwhelmed, and cellar started flooding. I have two other pumps in the old section but had to move the Princess's impending projects to 'safe ground' and do some squeegeing. Things slowed down a bit and sump stopped overflowing, but rain is picking up once again. Supposedly another 3 to 4 hours of rain. So far the winds are not too bad. Isaias is not my friend.
