Covid-19 seems to bring with it all negative things. Wouldn't it be interesting to see what creative positive things we can think up about it. Our things we are thankful it doesn't affect t? Such as
I'm glad pets can't get it! Can you imagine our chickens getting sick from it and trying to social distance then in a coop??
Oddly enough, I have really enjoyed many things about being quarantined, social distancing, and working from home. I'm an introvert and love gardening, watching the wild birds in the yard, biking, and having time to devote to getting our batch of 12 chicks out of the brooder and into the coop. I read Robin Wall Kimmerer's
Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants and that was been the best blueprint for coping with the pandemic for me.
As a single parent with a full-time job, I've also spent more time with my kids than I did when they were young since we're home all the time now. I've also made hundreds of cloth masks for friends, healthcare workers and various charities that are close to my heart and that makes me feel useful.
Of course, I also recognize that there are millions of people who have suffered because of Covid-19, cherished small business have failed, and this virus is exacerbating mental health issues, causing uncertainty and that there are so many people now forced into close contact with abusive family members, friends, and partners. I also recognize that I'm very fortunate to be able to work from home, to have a home, and to have a yard.
