Is anyone else so used to how life is now that they don’t want change?
I usually stay home anyway. Especially in the summer. Masking up to go to the store, washing afterwards and no fitness center or holiday dinner at cousin is the only things that has really changed. I can live like this.
Except I have turkeys I was growing for my cousin and she hasn't used the spring one. She wants for family gatherings

It's hard to eat a whole turkey if you're only a few people in your household.
Just me LOL
I part them out and eat turkey for a week. I usually eat 6lb of bone in poultry most weeks. So half a turkey or a chicken.
I have 2 extra toms that need to be harvested. The freezer is full.
I have 20 poults, 3 jakes will be ready by Thanksgiving, not sure of sex of 15.. I sell the hens usually, but not too eager to have people show up. The poults I sold no one wore showed up with a mask.... Along with 25 chicks too young to sex

Okay to be fair.....there is this wierd "invisible line" that seemed to be almost unanimously agreed upon in my college years. Once the friend reach a given trust threshold (think leveling up in a game) then some of the family allowed activities became occasionally acceptable. After a 6months to 2 yrs later even more "family activities" became accepted and some became expected over time as well.

Specifically in the foodie realm (for this reply - for now) some "can I taste/ you ought to taste" started about 5-6 months in... By the end of the 1st school year it developed into stuff like, "hey would you grab one so I can taste it to and see too please?"

When we would get together in groups and make a meal together - as in 'all of us were chefs for that meal' and tasting was done along the way by most and occasionally all as things were prepped and made or mixed and cooked etc.

There got to a point with a few after a couple years in these circles of friend that the feeling of brother/sister became a very strong bond and I can recall many instances when a experiment was concocted that several of us would be grabbing a clean spoon or fork and asking for a taste.

Now adays I'm not so sure how long it will be before I'll be comfy with such behavior ... And these are with those folks who are still in my life - in the real world stuff.... Even though we haven't seen or hugged one another in a long time.
Yes. That is kind of how I have evolved also. I guess I am no longer as carefree and spontaneous as I was in college days and even in the years after. And now with Covid here, I am very conscious of “germ swapping” behaviors. I suppose I don’t feel so invincible anymore.

Hi ..letting you know.. feeling better. Still coughing but nothing like it was. 2 weeks now. . And to to answer the question above about feeling normal..in the new normal..we don't go much anyway, but there will be a time I just want to go to a clothing store, or a different type of department store other than grocery shopping. That's pretty much all I do. Was going out to Walmart once in a while, but now only go to our neighborhood Walmart, they have groceries only. Our county is second largest in numbers .. on everything...next to the largest county..SLC. So, being careful. I need to stay well to take care of my husband who has Alzheimer's. He's home, still pretty active, dresses himself, feeds himself..He needs a lot more direction than he has in just a few past months. So sad to see him decline. Our youngest son, daughter in law, and there baby have moved in to help. So glad for them being here. Daughter in law..works at a bank. Son works at home. They are very careful when they go out, but they go to Walmart..and... went to a movie last week! They said they weren't worried about it because they had people spread out, and wearing masks. Yeah right, I wonder how many kept the masks on. Worries me. Hope all are well. Has anyone on this site gotten the virus? I haven't been getting on as much lately having been sick and helping with hubby.

I do recall a we'll know and respected user had passed away from Covid-19-mare back in around april? There was a thread about them too.

We have lost an Aunt last month to Covid-19-mare
One of my Better-half's friend's son who happens to be an anti-mask-er got his Mom sick....
A couple other close friends who used to be my roommates lost a Dad back in May and a cousin May-June and almost lost another cousin around then....

I'm close enough with a few staff at the "only places I go to now adays": TSC, Lowe's, Kroger...... It's a struggle watching all those resistant to wearing masks...
