On an interesting side observation ... did anyone notice houses or trees being TP'd this year? We saw ONE house, with one strand of maybe 12 sheets along each of two bushes. I can remember my mother gleefully handing out rolls of TP to each of us on Moving (Mischief) Night and giggling when we came back with stories. She did that regularly until my little brother and his two buddies did every house in the neighborhood but their own ... afraid they'd get in trouble. They did, but not the way they thought. Mom got called out by the other mothers - in good fun, for most of them. After that, we had to find another supplier. But, of course, she looked the other way when we snuck an extra roll or two out of the hall closet the night before Halloween. My Mom was ... and still is ... the COOLEST!

And here's another little Halloween funny to file away for next year ...

I'm personally curious to see in norovirus counts are substantially lower this fall-spring. I'm looking forward to seeing what effect masking has had on other winter diseases. I've worn masks before, when I had strep, and nobody got sick as a result.
California (npr story I saw/heard yesterday?) Is already showing valid data points on noticable decline of flu cases.

Something I've noticed this fall: with all the political lawn signs, I'm not seeing political bumper stickers at all. This is not a complaint!
Anyone else notice this, or is it only here in southern Michigan?
Mary
Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area the bummer stickers are less frequent this season but, the racist, and white supremacists "code word" bumper/window stickers have had a constant increase the last 2+ years around here!

We got one... ONE ... and that was my adult neighbor across the street who met me on the porch to exchange candy bars! Since our little Main Street makes a big deal out of Halloween, we usually draw in hundreds of kids ... literally. All Halloween activities were cancelled, including trick-or-treating, but I figured we'd get a few strays, if only our direct neighbors. Nope. They all went to other places that were allowing the festivities ... so their exposure expanded!

That may be a moot point for me and mine. My best friend, with whom I spent the entire day on Saturday and the Wednesday right before, called for a chat, and mentioned that her son was very upset with her. She wasn't feeling well and he wanted her to get tested, but she was SURE it was sinuses, again. I convinced her to get tested right away ... and guess what? Positive!

It's been less than 48 hours, so I can't get a test, yet, but I guess that's on the agenda for tomorrow. Depending on the results of that, DD & DS will get tested, too. In the meantime, I guess I should be grateful that tomorrow is Veterans' Day, so DS & I are off work. DD's classes are all online, so that won't change much.

My mind is racing with lists of things that have to be done if we're quarantined - and who we can have do them. We need pet food and coop bedding, milk and the dreaded TP. The farrier is scheduled for Tuesday. afternoon. It's too much to process, right now, especially since I don't even know anything, yet. I think I hear bedtime calling. Hopefully, a good night's sleep (and a negative test result) will come with the morning.
For your safety and all those around you, be prepared to quarantine for 14 days REGARDLESS of your test results. Of course follow your doctor's advice, but these are the quidelines. Hoping the test is negative!:)

And you know what? I'm okay with that!
I don't see horror films, no way!
Blood and guts and screaming on the silver screen, not attractive, don't need any of it.

Why should anyone go to a movie they wouldn't enjoy? Suspense is what really gets to me but if it ain't entertaining or broadening why should I subject myself to it?

I think we heard the same story. The female epidemiologist from Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, right?

Is it possible for your friend to get a second test? There are false positives and sinus difficulties aren't a symptom I've heard before.

Have you got a spot to isolate to until you and/or your friend get cleared?

Fingers crossed for ALL of you!

I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope your test comes back negative. I hope you all have already begun your quarantine. All of you should be wearing your masks around each other, and trying to keep a safe distance from each other if possible. Constant cleaning of surfaces and cracking a window or 2 open to allow for fresh air exchange. Can you shop on line and just have someone else pick them up? Or do any stores do delivery in your area? I wish you and your family all the best. My prayers are with you all.
