I completely agree with you, Bigbluefrog, about supporting the struggling independent business who are being devastated by the shutdowns.

This is just ONE of the news stories about the state of our hospitals now statewide. In the 50 years I've lived in CA deaths have continued to happen from any number of events. NEVER have I seen hospitals maxed out.

I know I am LUCKY that my daughter remains a survivor of all this but the fact remains that she CRIES her way to work every day.

I have not seen maxed out hospitals.
(Your experience is different then mine)
I have not seen maxed out floors of patients but see nurses furloughed.
( again your experience is different and I send love and prayers)
Your daughter is working at the hospital?
Give her a hug!
again I am not dismissing the virus just not everything you hear is accurate.
I been touched by covid and lost loved ones and had people hospitalized. All were over age 92 and had health issues and were not doing well before covid.
I also know many who had a minor sore throat and were okay.
I really am trying to push hope and caring for one another. Understanding we have medicine and plasma, a vaccine
Hope!
I choose to focus in Hope
It is how I cope with this

Although I like stats! Accurate stats- truth in numbers. We have less than 1 % active cases.
and that is the truth with the numbers posted.

*** @ChocolateMouse -How many puppies?! Like a barrel of monkeys- with four legs and a big olive nose! Photos please!!!

Ugh, we have to go take our dog into the vets today cuz we want to get meds to calm him for the upcoming (and usually constant neighborhood) fireworks and vet wants to weigh him and have a talk. He just got his check up in September but who needs money and convenience in these times? Bwah- for sissies...!! We did get a package of a calming strain of hemp for him but like to keep some big stuff to knock him out on hand, if we can't get away from the fireworks. I hate fireworks... and they are almost a daily thing that has turned our puppy into a nervous wreck. Maybe i'll try his calming hemp.

Our Vet talked with me about the OTC calming treats for dogs to see what the mg level was as they have the b vitamins and we could find other human chewable pills as a substitute.... I forgot the specifics as that was 3+ years ago.....

Yes, my daughter is an ICU nurse at LA's largest hospital. She's 42 and sees people younger than she is have fatal heart attacks and strokes from Covid.

By all means be hopeful but it makes me FURIOUS when people deny and minimize what's going on in the country. You're lucky if it's not happening in your neck of the woods. It IS happening in far too many places and the third wave is coming before those vaccine injections get to most folks.

@TropicalBabies Have you tried a thunder shirt or a DAP collar? I'm happy to provide pictures of the monsters. :)

We did not mention the herbs to vet office yet as my hubby just picked up last eve from our gal friend who runs our local 4H. I'm not sure if it is an age thing or an accumulative thing for our puppies increased distress. We were going to take them in and discuss as part of our calming pup plan- but that is very interesting point you just brought up and thank you. I'll share what she says just incase any others are gleaning info.
Has anybody tried the "Thunder Vest" type of products for their fluffy children?

Our frontline kids just got their vacs last week. I'm so thrilled though, like all, wish we never had to get to this point. Agree with all you said :hugs We are in this sh*t show boat together, best if we all start picking up a paddle and start rowing in the same direction. At this point the smartest person in the room is doc Fauci... we should listen to him.

Oh my goodness that is a whole lotta puppy love! Beautiful pack of pups CM and mahalo for sharing. I think we are going to consider a comfort vest as part of our solution too. Poor puppies... people suck.
